Giving Thanks
Anthony 25 XI 03

Let us remember this week of what we have to be thankful for. We are blessed enough to have the type of life that allows us to play with our chosen hobby, and a community that supports us in doing so. We are blessed enough to have family and friends who may not get it, but are happy that we are happy. So let us give thanks for our many blessings both large and small. We may not be perfect, but we are blessed to be who we are.

Leg Godt!

MichLUG at Festival of Trees
Lenny 25 XI03

Jason Spears is again in the news, this time in conjunction with a show at the Michigan Festival of Trees. The layout included a bustling city with cars and all that, but more importantly, it included an active little Medieval City. Check it out! It really is a great little scene.

Basic Concepts of Heraldry
By Patrick K Morgan and Stephen Wroble 22 XI 03

Heraldry as discussed in this article is the recording and regulation of armory. Many historians have their own opinions of when and where heraldry started, and this article won't cover any of those. We strive to merely impart a bit of the rules regarding heraldry, and specifically the blazoning of arms. A coat of arms isn't described, it is blazoned.

Jason Spear's Medieval Houses
Lenny 20 XI 03

Jason Spears keeps them coming with two new 3CS Houses. These are remarkable for using otherwise rare colors: light yellow and teal. They are great, so I recommend you check them out!

The Emperor will see you now.
Anthony 20 XI 03

Nathan Wells brings us a new MOC, his Imperial gate, and has been added to the his creation's page. It's good to be the king.

Colossal Castle Contest
CC Team 19 XI 03

The CC Team is proud to announce our first building contest: The Colossal Castle Contest.

This contest is a bit different than other contests. We have a variety of categories each with one prize for the winner. Some categories require small creations and others need larger ones. Everyone, even with a limited supply of bricks, should be able to enter several categories. We are looking for creativity, not who has the most LEGO.

Check out the prizes. Every 1986 Castle set is a prize. There are several other sets and custom weapons. It truly is colossal! Thank you to LEGO, the Little Armory, and others who donated prizes. The rules can be found here. Enjoy!

Discuss the contest here.

"East Meets West" and Nathan Well's Imperial Gate
Lenny 13 XI03

Will it stop? NO! Nathan Wells brings us his very creatively designed Imperial Gate. This is the first 3CS wall to be specifically designed to sit on two baseplates - and definately deserves that distinction.

This weekend Classic-Castle's own Lenny Hoffman joined up with the great KK Quah to bring LEGO Castles to Disney's Festival of the Masters. This is the first complete 3CS Display, and people were definately impressed. But don't worry, this is far from the last 3CS Display you'll see!

Tons of Creations - 3CS is really taking off!!
Lenny 12 XI 03

There be MOCs here! I've got Jason Spears's Pub 'n Shop, and Herid's Rare Books Shop. Jason Spears is quickly becoming one of the 3CS greats! I've got AC Pin's Star Wars-Castle crossover Gungan Tower! I've got Jordan Bradford's White Tower - a awesome little set up of minifigs in the process of constructing a 3CS wall section. Plus, Mike Thorn keeps them coming with a Red Gate and a Black Tower. Tomorrow, I'll be making the formal announcement about the biggest 3CS Display this past weekend at the Downtown Disney Festival of the Masters!

Minifig Torso Designs and Stickers
by Anthony Sava 10 XI 03

Ok, you've collected from all sorts of themes- Star Wars, Harry Potter, Trains, Town and Adventurers. Well great. Now you have all these minifigs with unusable bodies. From now on, considered your list of options extended.

Lexicon: C-G
by Kevin Blocksidge 09 XI 03

Don't know the difference between a mantle and a mantel? Not sure what a quintain is? This is the second in a series of articles dealing with many terms relevant to castles. Each term is accompanied by a simple definition and an illustration made out of LEGO.

Also don't forget to check out the Lexicon A-B, which as been updated!
