A Medieval Christmas Carol

1. Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Jacop Marley, before being whisked off to his past by a child-like spirit, who shows him his younger self doing arithmatic at Christmas. And then a jolly, hairy ghost shows him Bob Cratchit's hovel.

2. The phantomic Ghost of Christmases Yet to Come shows him a grave...

3. And you know the rest: Scrooge bullies a small boy into buying a turkey, before gatecrashing Cratchit's house... ;)

emperors new clothes

Here is my entry to the CCCVIII, in the fairy tale category...
My entry is based on The Emperors New Clothes, by Hans Christian Andersen...

The Emperors New Clothes is a fairy tale about a vain, rich king who loves to show off his wardrobe…one day he is met by some strange peddlers from a strange land…They offer to make him the finest suit of clothes in the whole world…When they show him the thread from which his clothing will be made he sees nothing at all…Not wanting to look foolish, he pays them to make his suit from the nonexistent thread…His entire court goes along with it until, while gallivanting through town to show off his fine new suit, a child declares “The emperor isn’t wearing any clothes!!!”

Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots stopping the Kings'carriage because the Marquis of Carabas is in the water and his clothes were stolen.
The miller's son's real clothes are hidden behind a rock and apparently Puss recently caught another rabbit with his lettuce trick.
The carriage can steer and it bends vertically. The roof comes off to put the figures in.

Snow White: the lost scenes

Actually this is a parody of Snow White. Instead of cooking, cleaning up etc. for the dwarfes, she is doing danceshows while the dwarfs get drunk. Unfortunately CCCVIII-entries have to be PG13 (wink), so the MOC only depict the beginning of the evening...

The Princess and the Pea

When the wannabe princess showed up at the palace door to escape from a passing rain shower, the Queen offered her a room for the night. While the suspect princess was dining, the Queen went to personally arrange the guest chambers. She made sure to bring along a pea, and then ordered her servant to acquire 20 mattresses. Thus operation Detect-a-True-Princess was begun. The Queen knew her plan was foolproof. The servant wasn’t so sure, but mostly just dreaded having to drag 20 mattresses away again in the morning.

the riddle of the sphinx...

Here is my entry to the fairy tale category...

Long ago, on a mountain top near the city of Thebes a man named Oedipus encountered a creature called the Sphinx…

The creature was beautiful and terrible, with the face of a woman, body of a lion, dragon wings and a stinging tail…This creature killed everyone who could not answer this riddle: What has but one voice and becomes four footed, two footed, and three footed?

The Sphinx asked Oedipus the riddle, which none had ever solved.

Oedipus answered: Man, who crawls on all fours as a baby, then walks on two legs, and finally needs a cane in old age…

Her riddle solved, the enraged Sphinx killed herself by leaping from the mountain…

Having conquered the Sphinx, Oedipus was made king of Thebes…
