The Misfits of Dametreos IIChapter 8: Fraun's Revenge
“We shall avenge them.” Fraun said to his remaining force. He had been just informed his scouts had just been slaughtered. “They will pay for what they have done. Ready the men, Svaun.”
“Yes captain.”
“Here is where they were killed.” said the remaining scout.
“We should be able to follow them from here.” replied Fraun. “Let's go.”
The Forestman army moved on, quietly advancing through the brush. The scouts that Fraun had sent before them returned and reported that they where nearing the Black Falcon and Wolfpack army.
“Good. We shall avenge our brothers.”
The Forestmen kept to the trail and stopped on the edge of a small clearing. There they saw that the Black Falcon - Wolfpack army were about one hundred strong.
“Fire!” Fraun yelled.
The screams from the men dying were deafening. The Wolfpack were now regrouping behind Baron Decanis and some Black Falcon Mercenaries. The Wolfpack and Black Falcons charged up the hill. The Forestmen drew their battleaxes, swords, and knives and prepared for hand-to-hand fighting. The Wolfpack and Black Falcon army crashed into the opposing force but were repelled. They again attacked but were again repelled.
Decanis shouted, “They have cover from the woods! We can't defeat them!”
“We must eliminate them or they will aid Radjar and his men at Hemlock!” yelled Judas Nightblacke.
So the Wolfpack and Black Falcon army charged again, but seeing that the battle was hopeless Judas withdrew his men and left the Wolfpack to the Forestmen. The Forestmen surrounded the Wolfpack and slaughtered them. Fraun himself injured Decanis.
“It looks like your friends left you. Care to tell me who they are?” sneered Fraun.
“No.”
“Well. I was hoping you would tell me but…” Fraun drew his sword and prepared to slice Decanis’ throat.
“No! Wait! It was Judas Nightblacke!”
“Judas Nightblacke. Hm...never heard of him. You lie.”
“No, no that is his name, Judas Nightblacke, he is a mercenary! That is all I know! Please release me!”
“I think I'll keep you for a little insurance.” replied Fraun.
The Forestmen tended to the wounded and camped for the night. But in the morning Fraun discovered that Decanis had escaped.
“Megabloks" shouted Fraun, “How did he get away?”
“Sir, calm down! We have guards posted around the encampment, he shall not get far.”
Just then shouts came from the other side of the camp. The guards had found Decanis.
“Bring him to my tent.” ordered Fraun.
“Yes sir.” replied the guards. Fraun questioned Decanis and asked were the Wolfpack was stationed and if they surrounded the Hemlock Fortress.
“Nnnono. T-they are on the far side.” Decanis stuttered.
“Good.” said Dordrot, “We can get into Hemlock easily then.”
“Yes we can.” Fraun stated, “Then we won’t dwindle our forces trying to get to Radjar. Ready the men Svaun, we ride by moonlight.”
