Chapter I: Lord Void's Egg

Lord Void took a sip of red wine and ripped a chunk of flesh out of a roasted quail. Wiping his mouth, he proceeded to eat a plump boar's head, relishing the taste. Suddenly a servant rushed into the room, beaming happily. He bowed before Lord Void.
       “Yes?”
“My lord,” the man cried happily, “The attack on the Crusaders has succeeded! The Eroth Gamus is ours!”
Lord Void's eyes flashed with pleasure. “Where is it?”
“Majisto is bringing it via airship! It should be here within the hour!”
Lord Void leaned back. “Very well, you may go…”
As the servant scurried off, Lord Void thought to himself, Finally, my luck has changed for the better...
Lord Void had not long to wait before the servant returned.
       “My lord, Majisto has arrived!”
       “Then send him in!”
The doors swung open and a tall figure clad in blue entered, carrying something beneath his flowing cloak. Lord Void rose from his throne and greeted the wizard.
“Majisto, welcome! I hear your raid was successful!”
Majisto bowed. “It was indeed, my Lord. Our attack was swift and deadly; no one was left alive.”
The wizard withdrew a small wrapped package from within his sleeve and pressed it into Lord Void’s hands. “The Eroth Gamus is yours and ready to hatch!”
As Majisto said this the package began to smolder. Quickly, the wizard unwrapped it before it caught on fire. Revealed to Lord Void was a pearl white egg, elongated, slightly smaller than Majisto's forearm. Placing the egg on the floor of the throne room, Majisto stepped away and waited with Lord Void. The egg began to glow with heat until the egg suddenly burst, sending shards of shell in all directions. Lying on the floor where the egg had been was a lizard. Lord Void stared at the lizard, confounded. Majisto was equally stumped. Lord Void turned slowly to Majisto and growled quietly, “I believe you said that egg contained a dragon, NOT a lizard!”
Majisto trembled. “My Lord, there must have been some mix-up. I'm sure this can be explained!”
“Then explain it!” Lord Void shouted.
Majisto scampered off, beard swishing. Within a minute he had returned, toting a large and old-looking scroll. He unrolled it and scanned the runes printed on the page before giving a triumphant snort.
“My Lord,” he said, relieved, “I know our plight. Before us is indeed the great dragon of Eroth Gamus, but we are missing two key ingredients needed to complete it's hatching.”
       “And they are?”
“Two very rare and magical objects, the Duel Pendants of King Kris!”
“Where are these pendants?” asked Lord Void.
“My Lord,” replied the trembling Majisto, “There has been a rumor that two young whelps now own the pendants. Where they are, however, I do not know.”
Lord Void glared down at him and growled, “Well then go out and find those two pendants at all costs!”
As the wizard scampered off Lord Void turned the lizard still moving about on the floor and muttered “Megabloks lizard…”
