The BloodVaine Epic

Chapter 62: A Wizard's Advice

It had been a long day for the Black Knights. After they got all there men inside, they watched from the walls as there elite Black Knights fought with the elite Black Falcons. The Falcons had surrounded the Black Knights as they fought to the death.
“Milord.” a Black Knight said as he ran up to Sirion who was still mounted on his horse.
       “What is it?”
       “A wizard calls for you.”
There was a moment of silence as Sirion was thinking over everything that had happened.
“Now he decides to give me counseling?” Sirion replied to the Knight.
       “Uh...Yes milord. He does.”
       “Well, where is he?”
“He is waiting in the great hall milord.”
“Very well. Tell him I’ll be there.”
Sirion turned away and walked towards a crowd of people.
“BY ORDER OF KING SIRION, RADERIC, YOU HAVE BEEN SENTENCED TO DEATH!” A Black Knight yelled out to the crowd as he read a paper to a man with a slip knot around his neck.
“Do I have any last words?” Raderic replied back.
The Black Knight looked towards Raderic.
       “No.”
“Let him say whatever he wants!” Sirion said to the Black Knight.
       “My Lord!”
The crowd moved away as Sirion rode towards a small stage where the Black Knight and Raderic were.
“You didn’t have to trouble yourself in coming down here to watch a man be hanged.”
“Shut up and let him speak” Sirion replied back to the Knight.
“Heh. So you have come from battle to see me hang?” Raderic said to Sirion as he gave him a look of a dead crow.
“Maybe I should give you a more painful death” Sirion replied.
“How goes the battle?” Raderic changed the subject.
“Why should I tell a servant of BloodVaine?” Sirion replied.
“Oh just hang me and get it over with!” Raderic yelled at the Black Knight.
       “Annoyed by my words?”
Raderic just glared as the Black Knight pulled a lever, making the trapdoor open. Raderic dropped and disappeared.
       “What the Megablocks?!”
“What is it?” Sirion asked the knight.
The Black Knight, without responding to Sirion, pulled up the rope. It was cut.
       “What!” Sirion snarled.
All of a sudden Raderic jumped out, a blade was in his hands. He quickly cut the Black Knights throat before the Knight could unsheathe his sword. Raderic jumped off the stage and ran towards Sirion. Sirion quickly unsheathed his sword defending himself. Black Knight soldiers started to swarm the place. Sirion was ready for any kind of blow Raderic could give him, but instead Raderic side stepped and jumped into a tavern.
“STORM THE TAVERN!” a Black Knight commander yelled at his men.
As soon as the Black Knights stormed the Tavern. They brought out Raderic.
“You fools! You will all die under the name of BLOODVAINE!” Raderic snarled at the crowd.
“Lock him up. I want a few words with him.” Sirion ordered.
       “Yes milord.”
“My Lord. The wizard calls upon you and yet you do not come?” a Black Knight said.
       “Tell him--”
“Do not worry yourself, for I have come to you.” a old man with a cracked voice said.
“Have the shadows driven you out of your cage, wizard?”
A blue Wizard walked into the room. He slowly lifted his head up. As light shined on his face, instead of seeing a old and tired wizard, Sirion saw a skull.
       “So. The curse is true.”
“If wasn’t for that black cup and--”
“Do not worry yourself.” Sirion cut the wizard off.
“Then let us get to more important discussions.” the wizard replied.
“What counseling did you bring from your hole?”
       The wizard grinned at Sirion.
“How is Beleriand doing?” he asked.
       “He is licking his wounds.”
“I find that you are more pleasant to talk to when you have had a good meal.” the Wizard replied.
A long pause fallowed as both the Wizard and Sirion just looked at each other. The Wizard was the first one to break the silence.
“I have lived a long and short life. This curse is killing me. Me and Beleriand wont live long.”
“So it is true?” Sirion asked.
       “Yes.”
       “Hmmmm.”
“Do not waste my time with HMMMMS, Sirion!” the wizard snapped.
“Then why have you come back from your dark hole?” Sirion asked.
“I have come to face what I have become.”
“So fate has brought me here.”
“So you plan to ride on Beleriand one more time?” Sirion asked the wizard.
“The way the battle is going, it seems so.”
“The Black Falcons won’t be able to get past our defenses. My father and elves both built this castle.”
“Indeed. But I know most of BloodVaine’s plans. A great dragon is headed this way Sirion. And Beleriand will be weak without me.”
Silence fallowed as they both fell into deep thinking of the days to come.
“Hmmmm.” the wizard at last broke the silence.
       “What is it?” Sirion asked.
“I must tend to Beleriand.” the wizard replied.
Before Sirion could ask another question the wizard had left.
       “Uh sir..”
The Black Knight was still in the room.
       “What is it?”
“There is food and drink waiting for you.” the knight replied.
Sirion slowly got up and followed the knight to another room.
