The BloodVaine Epic

Chapter 70: Swelling The Ranks

Lord Void, at the helm of the Arklyndelys Vulondur, wretched horribly. The Mana flow had been completely drained, for a second it didn’t even exist. It did being to flow, however, but it would be hours before a spell of such magnitude could be preformed again. A instant later his head buzzed with a teleharm attempting to connect. Still trying to keep from vomiting, Lord Void completed the connection.
Milord, the Fire Breathing Fortress has been destroyed!
       Tyco...so that was it...
       What, my Lord?
The Mana flow has been drained, completely. Did BloodVaine blow up the Fortress or what?
There is nothing but powder left, Milord. By Chodan I’ve never seen the like!
Why the tyco did BloodVaine pound the Fire Breathing Fortress to dust? It was in his control!
We were caught by him, but Drock delayed long enough so we might get free.
       Drock? From the Dragon Isles?
Yes my lord, he saved us all...
       Did he survive?
No one inside the Fortress could have lived, my lord
       Tyco...where are you now?
The Neverwood, exactly where you wanted us.
Right, I’m coming to pick you up in the
Arklyndelys Vulondur.
Lord Void severed the telelink and shouted to the Fright Knights onboard, “Grab onto something now and hold tight!”
Without further ado, Lord Void punched in full throttle, and the Arklyndelys Vulondur lurched forward like a steed newly branded. As the land below melted into a blur his head buzzed with another teleharm. Both Voolmark and Bourne had created telelinks, trying to contact him. Before they could rattle of a reprimand, Lord Void snapped, Can’t talk, be back soon. Dragon Masters in need of help. Mana drained, Fire Breathing Fortress obliterated.
With half an hour the Neverwood was fast approaching, and Lord Void let up on the speed. Rope ladders were dropped and instantly became taunt as Dragon Masters loyal to their true leader clambered aboard. Caimlin rushed over to Lord Void, but Lord Void silenced him with a sharp gesture.
“Talk later. BloodVaine will be much weakened by that powerful spell, but he can still send out Aezazel. We need to get out of here!”
Cailim said, “My lord, there is no way we’ll even get off the ground with 600+ men on board, leave me here with 300 Dragon Masters in the Neverwood. It would be best to have a toehold here, I’ll report constantly on the activity in Classic LEGO until your command for attack.”
Lord Void thought for a split second, and then said, “You have the wisdom of a general, Caimlin, I congratulate you. Do as you say, but be quick about it!”
Caimlin nodded, and was about to turn away when Lord Void grasped his shoulder, “Caimlin, thank you. I might be dead if it wasn’t for you and the others. Loyalty is a powerful thing.”
Caimlin, surprised at this show of emotion, said, “My Lord, I will follow you always. That is what Dragon Masters do.”
Lord Void smiled faintly, working hard to form his mouth into such a foreign shape.
Caimlin ordered 300 Dragon Masters overboard, and the Arklyndelys Vulondur left as quickly as it had came. Lord Void and the Arklyndelys Vulondur had not been back over the Allied Army before he was confronted by Bjarn.
“What the tyco did you just do? You left us completely exposed!” Bjarn fumed.
“The Mana has been drained, and the Fire Breathing Fortress has been destroyed. It was my duty as a Dragon Master to rescue my fellow Dragon Masters, who have swelled the ranks of the Allies by five hundred.”
Before Bjarn could reply Bourne pushed his way in, followed by Voolmark.
“The time to attack is now. BloodVaine is weak, and his followers are confused.” stated Bourne.
Voolmark said, “With the Mana flow almost gone, BloodVaine can do nothing save teleharm. That gives us the advantage, though we can't to major spells either.”
