It's hard to see what you've built there because of the photos. It looks like your camera can focus well, its just not focused on the right things. Unless what you are presenting is a doorknob, a chair, a centerpiece, a sign that seems to be pointing towards a pool, and that centerpiece again :-P I ...

studs out walls provide an excellent opportunity for adding texture, brick patterns, and other coolness.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Fingobbins Village

Oh hi there everybody, it's me Kevoh, the wandering admin.

This is one of my more castle-ish creations in a while.

Floating rocks are a curious mix of steampunk, castle, and fantasy. They float because they do.

Ben, are you saying that LEGO sponsored a steampunk contest?

What were the guidelines? How did they define steampunk? Who's idea was it?

Ivanka Trump (Donald Trump's daughter, who I guess is working with Donald Trump on the latest "Apprentice") was on Conan last night, and told a story about how, as a child (I believe she said six years old) she received a Barbie for Christmas while her younger brother received LEGO, what s...

The links provided by BlueandWhite give a good idea of the scale BenE has been trying to describe in the Castle Contest thread.

I responded saying that I was interested. Unfortunately, I'm 19 and have no wife or kids. I offered to switch places with some house-wife. She'd cook diner for my apartment-mates and I'd pack lunches and drive some kids to soccer practices. It would be fun. Sure they are probably planning to show th...

There is no mention of "fantasy" in this description, and it could safely be assumed that any battle would be a typical battle - based in a castle/medieval timeline. After all - isn't that what this site is all about anyway? Classic-Castle.com has welcomed related themes up until this poi...

Once I asked Troy to change my nick to "Kevoh" so that it would be consistent across the internets and so that people wouldn't get the nick "Bricksidge" and my last name "Blocksidge" confused anymore. He said no. And I'm an admin, for goodness sake! Anyway... good luck ...

Also, my continuity with the hobby has been stunted because I'm now at school, far from my collection... Alas, what can we do? (If anyone's missed me lately...that's also why I've been gone: too much work.) Yep, I returned to school for my Sophomore year on Friday. Alas, no LEGO for me until winter...

Do us old farts a favor and explain "Steampunk." Is there a movie or TV show, book that embraces the gestalt of the notion? I see jury-rigged derigibles, floating rocks with buildings... I don't get it. Is it like a retro-future deal? Modern technology with Jules Verne nomenclature? If it...

Anyways, I don't see how you guys can afford to buy sorting cases and more Lego. I just can't break down and buy just plastic cases. Maybe Lego will make some sorting boxes with little drawers soon. Always look for sales. The shoebox sized bins will go on sale at some place or another all th...

Peeron lets you make a free account, and track your pieces. The interface can be somewhat clumsy to get around at times, but it gives you more information about your collection than LUGNET, and lets you add individual pieces. Ontop of that, if you're already a LUGNET member and keep a setlist there...

A couple of questions, how did you figure out the size of your collection? Did you actually count the pieces or use something like Lugnet's set list? I have a very accurate Lugnet set list (I'd say 100%, but I'm sure I'm missing some little thing or another) and then I came up with an average part-...
