I have to say, I didn't think I'd spark this kind of interest when I made those statues. I'm very flattered, Anthony! Thank you! Yes, yes, I've heard so many times how much they resemble Bender... I wish I could have done something about it. Anthony... the gray flags I used for the groin cover are M...

I always have a really hard time building villages because when I think of this time period, I think that unless you are the king or one of his very close lord-friends, you are a dirt-poor miserable peasant who can barely afford to eat, definitely illiterate, rebellion-class people. most of the thin...

Don't overlook the crossed-axe emblem on the guard... that may be the coolest feature of this set.... on the other hand, i doubt the emblem has lasted. Lego printed metallic the gold on top of the black, and every single crossed-axe torso i have now has only a black shield left now... perhaps i was ...

Hmm...i took the word "racialized" from an earlier post in this thread :)

in that picture that David referred to, look also at the other colors...the tan bricks are pretty gross looking, and the sand green is way off. I just don't think we can judge by these photos.

has anyone laid substantial claim to the fact that these figs are racialized? from looking at the photos, they look yellow to me, under poor lighting. The other colors in the photos look somewhat strange as well, and in some shots the figs are definitely yellow. I wish lego would stay "race-neu...

Plus, if you look at his windmill gallery you'll see construction photos, which either means he has a VERY well conceived plan before even opening the brick containers, or he took these photos backwards as he tore the windmill down. neither one would surprise me, and either would impress me.

hahaha! Dude you are right, they do look like Bender. But can you do? I really started out to make them more sculptureseque (*gag*) but i ended up with those. I have to give credit for inspiration on the deer head to Reed Anderson, whose elk in this gallery gave me the idea to use battle droid arms ...

though i designed the arms of these specific statues, i can't credit myself with the concept of using control switches as arms. this hardsuit design was my inspiration: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=418848 and i know i've seen other people use control switches in unnatural ways... ...

I am completely amazed by these creations. They are gorgeous. I don't think anyone can dispute that. The thing that really amazes me is how well they are photographed. you could almost replicate them from the photos because you can see every brick. i personally have never been a big fan of lego scul...

Dave- Man...this is one of those creations that you sit back and gaze at before making any comments. I have to say that all the minute details make this far more amazing than just some guy's arrangement of his gigantic lego collection ( you know what i'm talking about...stuff that is big just for th...

arms?

DM- first of all, thank you for the comments. you are too kind, but there are thousands of better mocs than mine out there. arms on the roof of the old man's home? perhaps you refer to the antlers on the giant elk head inside? i'm not sure what you mean if not that. Dave- thanks for the comments as ...
