I like multiple instructions books -- it makes it easier for my wife to help me if we each have a book to work from.

Re: Has LEGO gone nuts? $6 for ONE minifig?

There isn't a mystery to solve; the answer is in the first sentence: Toys r Us. They are responsible for the price tag which you abhor. Pirate Survival At Toys R Us - $5.99(US dollars): http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3316064 Pirate Survival at online at LEGO - $3.49(US dollars):...

Re: Has LEGO gone nuts? $6 for ONE minifig?

Can you give us a link to which set(s) you are talking about? Behold: Pirate Survival You know, i'm sure it probably still works out a lot cheaper than the prices getting charged in other areas. This is Earth, not Americaland. What the heck is that supposed to mean? I should be grateful just becaus...

Has LEGO gone nuts? $6 for ONE minifig?

Spring assortment impulse minifigs are $6 at Toys R Us. Six dollars for one minifig! I remember back when you could get 6 minis for that price. I could see them charging maybe $3 for one of these guys, even though they only charge about $10 for the Star Wars battle packs (which have 4 figs plus a ve...

Return of minifig sets

I'm sure most of you have seen this: http://brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=8401-1 I'm excited to see the return of minifig sets, but only 4 figs? It used to be six in the good ol' days. At least there are lots of other pieces in the set, but I'd like to see at least 5 figs, even if they have to remove...

I'm usually a grumpy, critical bastard, but I'm kinda digging these sets (heh heh). I don't mind the green and orange because those are pretty standard utility vehicle colors.

Re: Different Lego Plastics

1)The silver helms are basically just spray-painted. I think they might be light bley underneath, but I'm on shaky ground as it is. Others would know better. Anyone brave enough to cut one of their nice silver pieces in half to test this hypothesis? :) I'm not! I just got a Dwarf with a gold helmet...

Different Lego Plastics

Hey guys. I really hate the new pearled plastic used to make some Lego pieces. It partly ruins the experience of buying Lego sets for me, because the pearled plastic looks so cheap. I love the new silver helmets in the castle sets. I like the silvery plastic pieces much better than the chrome pieces...

Today's little archery set was really cute. I also have the City themed calendar, and that one was a brick-built tree with a cat.

I'm liking these way more than last year's advent calendar.

Here's a question. Why don't they just make all current pieces that are in production for sets available through pick-a-brick? Wouldn't that be extremely cost effective? Just crank out a couple hundred extra bricks for each set and set them aside for pick-a-brick. Then people could make their own Ma...

And I hope they keep doing it. Set design has been way better recently and I think it has a lot to do with getting ideas from fans.

Buh, no pitchfork. :? I got to talk to the designers, and they said they very much wanted a pitchfork, but that it is mosy unlikely to return anytime soon. Something about it would need to have applications in other lines to be brought back just now. Richard Well, there's the new FARM sub-theme, bu...

I post rarely, but for this, I have to say something. Holy. Freaking. Shizzy. Never let is be said that Lego doesn't love us. They love us, and they are listening. Plumes? Check. Civilians? Check. Food pieces? Check. Cows! Check. Maidens? Check. Incredible civilian buildings? Double check. Wow. Wowe...

DanDanLegoman--- Do you mean something like this... No, but I do like that idea. Amanda's right, I was talking about removable ears that work like plumes or viking horns. I don't really like the chiseled look of the Elf face in the Lego ad. I think Elves should have more delicate features, with &qu...

Man, I must be the only one who wants ears on my elves! But I don't want elf ears on the minifig's head, but rather on the hairpieces. They could even be removeable like the Viking horns, except they should protrude up and back instead of up and out. If the hairpieces had circlets/headbands, then th...
