I personally feel the KK2 knight's helms are as far removed from true helmets of the period as are space helmets (well, ok, not quite, but close). I've yet to see any period examples that come anywhere close. The first LEGO helmets, IMO, were far more accurate and one can draw some approximate concl...

I had a thought awhile ago that is somewhat relevant here. I was looking at real-world helm equivalents. No-nasal basic helm: Bascinet Nasal, sloped sides basic helm: I came to the conclusion that the sloped parts are not solid; they are chain mail! The only solid part of the helm is from the brow u...

I'm from Arizona. Not there right now because of college, but I am during breaks. Unfortunately I don't know any local Lego groups. :(

I really like this set. Then again, I also like the RK. I don't really think they look that cartoony ... more just brightly colored nobility.

The 3 footsoldiers included in this set are a big bonus for me. Sure, the King gets repetative but this is HIS carriage, after all.

8/10

If you are some sort of serious collector, obviously keep 'em sealed. I myself am a casual collector, so I would open it and built the darn set. ;) Man, just thinking about opening an old-style box makes me happy.

The black helmet on the left is cool. So is the black Euro armour. Everything else is horrid.

Edit: Look, we get a yellow castle ...

Awesome set. I keep two built 'cause they are just that cool. Those guys are sure well armed ... sword, lance, spear, bow, or crossbow to choose from.

The whole wolfpack theme is a bit odd but then again, I've grown to like them.

I buy friend's collections, build any sets I don't have, and use the rest for whatever.

If any, the smallest possible. (perhaps some sort of bagged set will be out later?)

Otherwise, not touching 'em with a ten foot pole.

I have a light-gray cone helmet ... and a torso with the logo featured on the Classic-Castle banner.

That is about it. :(

I think it does have a chest, although not one as we think of it. The red thing in the back looks like a chest with a pointed lid, at least to me. I like the design, it is neat little set which fits in well to any castle scene, I'd think. He sure does have a lot of implements of war with him though,...
