Re: Does Anybody Use The Crown Soldiers As Bad Guys?

Well, it depends what faces you give them...its just too hard to think badly of soldiers who smile all the time! I do think that any dominant faction can be set as bad - its all a matter of perspective, of course. Whether over-taxed peasants rising up against the money-hungry Crown, or the brave gre...

Re: Battles 2009 Vignette Entry - "Tavern Fight"

I really like the candle and the wall structuring - really feels like part of a larger building, not just a stand alone 8x8 base. The figs are placed well and expressive. I would have liked to see some surrounding damage (overturned stools, cups, etc.), but perhaps this was just an unprovoked fight....

Re: BC Entry #3: The Serpent of Morkai Sewers

Great story lead-up, and the action is great. (The light effects add a nice touch in the story lead-up). Really nice movement effects with the fire and magic bolts. I agree with shmails - doesn't feel like a sewer to me, way too clean. More dinge! ( A good example of rusting and decay by Keith Goldm...

Re: Gate

I really like the plate-built stonework on the side, though it needs to be integrated a bit better - looks a bit off being framed like that. Also, the snow looks good - maybe some snow drifts to enhance the effect?

Overall though, a good start.

Where are those helmets from?

Re: Dragon Masters' Jousting Tournament

Cute set up. My one question - can the troll run fast enough to effectively joust? I'm not sure trolls have such high speeds... :D

I also like the helmet horns technique on the troll-rider.

Re: Castle Evolution Stage |3|

Ditto to all the well-earned and deserved praise above... Two little details (among many) that I wanted to highlight - the clever hauberk (that's the knee-length mail armor) on the guard in the doorway. A use for the short legs! Secondly, I really like the offsetting in the windows. Really spectacul...

Really loving the temple - a good Greek Acropolis-style structure, really grounds the entire MOC.

The rest of it ain't too shabby either...

I really like the hinge plates as wall texture under the windows. Works really well...might have to steal that one.

Re: MOC mountain fortres

I like the angled wall and the main tower - you really got the good patterning with the different greys. Also, nice tree with roots.

However, I'm not sure what those long vertical slits are in the big square part are...

Re: majistos magic mania

I remember getting the workshop over thanksgiving weekend at the F.A.O. Schwartz in Manhattan, along with one of the new islander sets. It was pretty nifty.

Greetings All

Long time lurker, but finally getting my act together to post. Formerly a spacer, I have in recent years been converted to the one true faith of castlehood (Castleism? Spirit of the Holy Black Falcon?). My interests lie in medieval and ancient, so expect (hopefully) things from Roman towns to villag...
