I too saw the Dwarves at Target last night, though I did not pick up a set. :( This is obviously a roundabout way for LEGO to give fans something that strongly resembles The Hobbit / The Lord of the Rings , without acquiring a complicated tie-in license. Right? In the recent past, they've given us G...

I recently bought and built this set. Other than the strange little tower, I really enjoy the battleship itself. (As for the tower, I suppose if you have multiple copies of the set or have similar spare parts a network of semi-ruins can suffice for Dracus' nautical homeland.) It feels like a fast bo...

Knight's Challenge rocks! It's very civilian if you think of it as analog to our modern equivalent: parties and sporting events. It seems like quite the party: Two competing factions coming together peacefully (in theory), goblets and mugs a-plenty, and a tapped keg. The only two people not having f...

I think they sold those at LEGOland a few years ago, and maybe at LEGO Stores as well. They're basically foam weapons and armor for kids (normal and overgrown :D ) to play with. This year, they have Viking-themed round shields, horned helms, and KKII-themed weapons as well. Previously, they had KKI-...

I think we'll be having this 1000th CC-er celebration quite often. I estimate (more of a wild guess) there's one legitimate new CC-er for every five or so spammers. Since it's already been declared by the community (in this topic), Mosana should still be 1000, albeit version 1. Pax, Pacificus (#239)

Most of the Classic knight sets, like Kings Castle and that era, compliment each other nicely (The wall sections could be added to the castles). It was like the LEGO Company was daring you--no, double-daring you--to connect separate sets together. :D The unwitting (or maybe just unobvious) set cohe...

Space...cool. My first minifig ever was a blue Spaceman. If I can dig up his/her/its original body parts, I believe the Spaceman's legs are extremely floppy (you all know minifig floppy leg syndrome). The Spaceman's wrists are also loose. I don't think the Spaceman's torso can accept legs or a head ...

Where do your Factions live?
Since this topic mixes official factions and official sets with custom factions and MOCs--and since it takes a storyteller's imagination to do so--I'm posting this under "Stories." OK, that aside, where do your Factions (official and/or custom) live? Official sets? MOCs? Where? As for me, ...

As is the plan, let's shift it back to LEGO (if we can). Thanks for the info, Ben! For those interested, he's talking about the Sydney Opera House (LEGO examples at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=17070 and http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1040010 ). I'm stating the ob...

PoMo LEGO?
I searched the C-C forum, I scoured Bricklink, and I Googled the topic. Nothin'. My question to my fellow C-C-ers is: Is it possible to create a LEGO rendition of, say, Frank Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Hall )? Being "ye of little bricks" (not the...

Members can always find great images of old sets in our own archives: www.classic-castle.com/sets/sets.html Right on, Architect! That section drove me to this site more than 2 1/2 years ago. The Battle at the Pass hadn't been added at the time of posting, so I went with Bricklink's images (for the ...

I don't have this set, but I suppose it is good for spare parts and an extra soldier. Put together, though, you'll have the following equation: Dude + wood barrel + bat + fire = KA-BOOM! If you have a lot of them, I suppose they can look to be a formidable front line of fantasy-type, cart-pushin' be...
