Re: Musketeer (4000th post)
Really cool! Is there an established template for converting minifig designs into these brick-built giants, or does everyone just wing it? I think we all started with the instructions provided for this set: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=3723-1 and then modified to create our unique designs. A...

Re: Ten years!
Thanks to all the admins for all their work over the years. CC and I are of approximately the same vintage in the AFOL world and it has been a dependable and enjoyable part of my day for the last decade. I look forward to another great ten years. Thanks also to the members of the forum who, whether ...

Not clear on that, sorry my bad.JoshWedin wrote:I did miss that it was part of the collab. I thought it was stand-alone.
I don't really do "stand-alone". Maybe I'll get there someday, but not just yet.

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
What we have is EK's section, BiggerJim's, Thomas' and mine. My small section (now called St. Piggin's) is not part of the layout? :( Sorry the details were sort of buried at the bottom of a post quite a ways back: @Josh: I will be bringing my cloister (48x48) with pig/cow monks + some landscaping ...

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
I was obscenely pleased that I was able to complete my fig without resorting to BL. I only had to "borrow" my son's stash of basic black brick, but he owes me.Bluesecrets wrote:I can't ever build something without buying more parts.

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
I would think you could pack it with the head removed and then just attach it on the turntable once you arrived? I plan to remove the head and the arms. The shoulder joint seems likely to fail if roughly handled so it just seems easier to remove them. In fact I have been removing the arms rather th...

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7433/9577963028_17eef8c433_n.jpg I never realized how few black 2x bricks I have! The black side is mostly made up of 2x2 black bricks! But at least I'm building early this year! @Josh: I will be bringing my cloister (48x48) with pig/cow monks + some landscaping (48x32...

Re: Looking for Lego-themed Fantasy Football Names
Not many around like football...I think we can count the number in the single digits. Really? Well, I guess if you are talking about pointy-ball. As a fan of Football played with the feet I would suggest something like Blockhead United, Brickchester City or for an even more Euro-flair perhap...

My BA was in history (over 20 years ago now - yikes) with a lot of courses from our Medieval Studies department.
