Re: LEGO Blogging

1) What is your blog? BricksABillion 2) What is the general theme of your blog, or do you have a general philosophy that drives your blogging? I call it a "catablog" of tools, tips, and techniques for building with LEGO. Mainly, as I come across something that I find useful that I want to...

Re: Job Mullers Contest - The Reviews

Thanks for the review Aliencat! Despite not winning, and despite not getting my several other entry ideas finished, it did help me realize how much fun making a web comic was (since that's the main form I presented my MOC in). So, for those interested, just thought I'd put in a shameless plug for my...

Re: Welcome Back!

I did prefer the blue studs to the weapons we have at the moment. But you're the admin- decide amongst yourselves. If it doesn't work for the cry babies ignore them/us. I like both, though I did find the weapons to be very refreshing and actually more subtle than the studs. But I'll t...

Re: Forum Configuration Poll

I say leave it as is now; opening in a new window is the world wide web of the past. Yes, but, we are on a forum with loads of pictures. We like to watch them, a lot. So we'll have to right-click, a lot. Well ... I'll admit I'm new to this forum, so if there is a particular usability that most exis...

To anyone else who stumbles on this post in SC, we're starting a SC LUG, and I've started a forum to facilitate it.

Re: Forum Configuration Poll

I say leave it as is now; opening in a new window is the world wide web of the past. Web folks used to argue that opening a link in a new window allows your site to still be open, and will bring users back to the page. But this has gone by the wayside with usability studies, e.g. Jakob Nielsen's stu...

Re: Yahoo and Gmail temporarily unbanned

That's awesome; I really hope it works out. Gmail and Yahoo are such big providers, and who likes to proliferate email addresses ?? :( But I like spammers even less  so the whole thing has been understandable. I applaud the Admins' willingness to try this out again. Seventeen cheers. :D

Re: Large Gatehouse for Huge Modular Castle

Wow, that's a lot of 1x1 round plates. :D Very impressive. I agree with draugaer that some variation in the wall colors might help break up the "big grey wall syndrome", but you have done that on the "cobblestone" flooring a bit. Overall very impressive. I like big castles. :)

Wow, I love the sheer heights there, though I'd hate to be living in the tower, just for fear of rolling out of bed with an open window... :D

Re: Subterranean Shenanigans

I agree with Norro, the color mix throws me off a little, but then when you said: I find the mixed rock face always raises a healthy debate between builders, some with and some against. In this case it was necessary as I couldn't have built the mountains as high with only one colour :D I totally und...

Re: This Way to the Castle!

It is very basic.dhe way you've set the snot method on the grey bricks is very modern and clean -- but I don't get what the story of the MOC is? -- why is the jester leaning back, and why is the guy with the coins supposed to be a beggar? I get that the two knights are kind of watching what's going ...

I really like the perspective of the photo -- makes you feel like you're right there, rather than towering over it. Where does the staff come from?
