Re: Castle and Tolkien sets for 2013

70403 Dragon peak, £35: Damsel imprisoned in a small prison, which is raised up and reached by spiral staircase. Two of knights with a large catapault, a red/black wizard (I presume) and a red dragon, not unlike those in the fantasy-era castle sets. . That one right there got my interest... specifi...

Re: What is happening to classic yellow minifigs?

So maybe the ratio of licensed to non-licensed themes has changed, but aren't City and Ninjago the two best selling themes? Non-licensed yellow heads... yeah I know Star wars is right up there... I have to say, I totally understand Lego wanting to sell licensed themes... my little four-year-old son ...

Re: Dear Lego: Please bring back the Cypress Tree!

To bring back and update my old thread, I finally have my very own Cypress tree, and I love it! Lego should definitely recreate the mold for this tree! Hey, they did it for the pitchfork! I got mine by purchasing via Bricklink Lego set 7835 Manual Road Crossing , my most coveted Lego train set from ...

Re: Series 6 is in stores with some castle worthy figures.

I ran across these on the Lego isle at Target (I've also seen them at Walmart as of yesterday) while bumming around waiting for the pharmacy to fill a prescription and though what the heck, I wouldn't mind having a Minotaur. Found one after the 3rd bag using the feel method. Couldn't believe I found...

Re: Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive

Oh dear oh dear... so far I have avoided needing to have (and buy) most of the Kingdoms line... I did buy one each of the really small sets for the figs (which are the best part)... but the rest of the line hasn't really perked my interest. But this set looks really enticing. Problem is, once I saw ...

Dear Lego: Please bring back the Cypress Tree!

I've always wanted one of those old Lego Cypress Trees, but never got one of the few sets that contained them. I'm talking about part 3778. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3778 It only appeared in 15 sets, the last one released 10 years ago, 10113 Cypress Trees The prices for this tree on...

Re: the pitchfork is back!!

The lego pitchfork is finely back :D sadly it does not come in a castle set but one of the new space sets for 2011 :( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4896094 oh-well at least it doesn't look to expensive. That's funny! A space set is the last place I'd have expected to see a pitchfo...

Re: Weekly Set Review: Church

Lego should sell more religous buildings for all of the previously stated reasons but it'll never happen on the off chance that someone is offended (which I totally get but still annoys me) Hmm... sounds like you might be offended that Lego won't see religious buildings in the off chance that they ...

Re: Weekly Set Re-Review: Knight's Stronghold

I got this set when I was little, and I really liked it (though I had to share the Black Flacons part with a sibling). I didn't have any other black castles for it to go with (except 6034 - Black Monarch's Ghost), so it had to stand on it's own. I loved the dragon shields! And it also finally gave m...

Re: Weekly Set Review: Dwarves' Mine Defender

Basically I bought this set for the Dwarf. It's ok as a war machine, though I agree the rubber band system doesn't work well. Especially on carpet where the wheel doesn't seem to get enough traction to turn the blades. What I haven't figured out is whether this is primarily a mining machine (some so...

Re: Nuremberg Toy Fair: 2011 Kingdoms Set Pictures

As you've observed, the complaint about the horse has nothing to do with its colour and everything to do with the blinders which make the horse a very single-purpose element. Considering that AFOLs have waited over 20 years for a horse that isn't white, brown or black it seems like a perfectly vali...

Re: Nuremberg Toy Fair: 2011 Kingdoms Set Pictures

Why all the hate on the printed horses?? :? If you want plain white horses there are scads of other sets that have them. I think it's nice to see something different for a change, especially a gray paint. Sure it narrows their use, but so what? Just use them to draw carriages. I think they're cool, ...

Re: Second Kingdoms Wave?

Even if we did know, we wouldn't be able to talk about them here. I do hope we get another wave of Kingdoms and not just one wave like current Pirates line. Thanks for the info Ben. Well since Pirates was canceled for the POTC line, I don't think that Kingdoms will be going as quickly. HOWEVER, I h...

Now I have 3 elves! As luck would have it I got to Walmart as they put 4 boxes out. Sadly I only found 3 elves there. I would have had 4 but I gave one to a boy who came looking for an elf while I was there and had no idea how to find them. Hey got to keep that younger generation on the right track...

Re: The Decline of Lego Castle?

Hello! King's Mountain Fortress 6081 looked like a ruin right away... Funny, that's kind of why I like it... kind of a dilapidated place high up in the mountains... Anyway, on topic. I'm kind of lucky in that the decline of lego coincided with my naturally growing out of toys anyway. The last castl...
