Re: My first MOC for Classic Castle

Thanks for all the kind words (and it looks like I've been elevated from the rank of gong farmer in the time since I've posted this!) I finished up the detailing, but aside from the water now completely circling the tower it's barely noticable enough to warrant taking new pictures. I'm not completel...

Re: Weekly Set Review: Yellow Castle

- It's odd - and slightly sad - that despite this set's prominence, none of its minifigs/factions ever appeared in another set ever again. I always thought of the Fantasy Era knights (aka, "Crownies") as being an updated version of the guys who held the yellow castle (as they both use a c...

Re: Weekly Set Review: The Final Joust

A nice set; the weapons, the barding, the archs and the "wood" pieces are all very nice for the price. On its own it's not much to write home about, but really not bad for such a small set. The black skeleton horse is a plus too.

Re: A silly vig to make you smile

Always thought that peasant boy was up to something, what with the smirk on his face. Nice bit of real-world detail there behind the cow :)

Re: Are the New Castle bad?

The only thing that really bothers me is the relative lack of rooms/living quarters in most of the Crown castles (obviously MMV is an exception to this, as it isn't a castle.) The Kings Castle Siege in particular; it's obvious that it was built around the idea of repelling a skelleton attack, but th...

It is certainly one of the better sets in KK2, but that isn't really saying much. I'm sure KK2 has its fans, but it was a dark age of Lego castle for me. This set at least has more toned down, uniform colors for the knights (not to mention plenty of them) and the sheer number of weapons is definitel...

Re: A Vignette A Week 01

This sounds like a great idea; Lego vignettes are usually pretty interesting because the limitations on size force the builder to focus on quality over quantity. I'd be very interested in knowing more about what is going on in this one (unless it's already explained and I just completely missed it);...

More pics uploaded! Same position, but taken from a little further away: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/printer6/WIP/pict0008.jpg The backside (this is the area I'm still working on- rocks need finished up, more tiles for the water, and some green plates for grass): http://www.brickshelf.com/gall...

My first MOC for Classic Castle

Hi, I'm new on here (as you could probably guess, what with the gong-farmer status and what not) and wanted to post something up. This is the first time I've taken pictures of a Lego set before (sorry it's just the one shot so far- I should have more uploaded soon, and then I'll just link to the Bri...

Re: Classic-[Insert New Name Here].com?

I got the impression from the news that they simply wanted a sub-name for the current Castle line; the current series has been termed "Fantasy Era" by fans, yet the only official name I've seen is "Castle" (so is it officially "Lego Castle: Castle"??). While I don't thi...
