Re: Three Thousand Posts on Classic-Castle!

so we will have to see if I can hold this blistering pace for about a decade so that I can catch up to Bruce, who currently has a 3,434-post lead on me! ;) Note to self - at some point before 2024, squash AK. Bruce Bruce, squash? that sounds messy, there just has to be a 'little accident'...

Re: Quick run of Lego Castle 2013- to be discontinued this y

@Athos, Huw follows basically the same picture policy as CC does so if it's posted in Brickset database it's safe to post here. I like that we are getting battlepacks, I dislike they are complete retreads of the released minifigs. I also notice that each battlepack is now 4 minifigs and some minor s...

Is it a Lenticular Hologram? the kind with the ridges (opposed to a foil one)?

Re: Quick run of Lego Castle 2013- to be discontinued this y

Even if LotR is done, the Hobbit is not. There were no signs of new Castle sets mentioned in the reports from the London Toy Fair according to Brickset and others. As Blue mentioned that means little. Castle is a summer release and many of the minifig's at the London Toy Fair were mock-ups or stand-...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion

I haven't built anything to the CCC Wall or base8 standards but have some experiences with setting up/adjusting Micropolis Displays, which also has a pin connection standard. My take on the pin standards is theres are occasionally times when you want/NEED them and those times make them very useful. ...

Re: BrickCon 2013 SigFig Photoshoot Pictures now posted

Nice job (I had gotten busy elsewhere and forgotten about this).

Thanks Josh for putting together my Sigfig for the photo shoot, it's appreciated.

Re: Collectible Minifigures Series 11

I've heard supposedly the US release date is Sept 1st, it sounds about right anyways. Odds are TRU will have them out earlier here in the US.

Re: Going to a Lego Store

The Discovery Centers are not owned or run by LEGO, they are part of Merlin Entertainment who also owns the theme parks, PaB there will vary. The quality shall we say of PaB parts has a number of factors that affect what you find on the wall These factors include who's doing the ordering (or detail ...

Re: BrickCon 2013 SigFig Photoshoot Signups

Once again I'd be honored if someone would be able to build my sigfig for the CC photo shoot. My sigfig is unchanged from the last couple of years: http://s1193.photobucket.com/user/Castleguy/media/sigfig3W.jpg.html Also similar to last year if the parts are unavailable any substitutes necessary wou...

I hadn't gotten to his other thread before I replied or I would have refrained from posting above seeing as he had gotten advice valid for all CMF series in the other thread.

Re: Identifying Collectible Minifigures Series 9

I don't recall of any offhand but the way I approach CMF Series is I look at the hair/accessories or any other distinctive parts. Things like the 'Skirt' brick or Mermaid's legs can narrow it down. So the clues I'd look at are: Waiter, tray/bottle. Cyclops, head/club. Hollywood Starlet, statue/skirt...

Re: Heading to LEGO store for first time

@Sschmidt , if the choice is between S@H online or the store, I'd go with the store. You are able to see the specific boxes you'll be getting etc. I don't recall if S@H is doing any free shipping offers atm, but if not you'd save that too.

Re: Heading to LEGO store for first time

If you just passing thru while catching a game you'll probably not have time to do much stacking on a PaB cup, just remember you are paying for the space within the cup, filled with ABS or air. I prefer to get as much ABS as I can and pack and even stack it as tightly as possible. You'll most likely...

Re: Who know about your interst in Lego?

I would say Bruce and BlueSecrets have some very good points. I'd like to echo Bruce's theme of 'It's more about managing your hobby related identity than hiding it'. I know if I'm active online I cannot hide but I can have some semblance of privacy. If somebody wants to dig hard and spend both time...

Re: Dear LEGO - Other decades-old irrelevant license ideas

I'll throw a few out there then: RoboTech/Macross, some nice mecha available. Voltron, just think of ALL the vehicles involved, either the 5 lions or the 15 smaller ones from the later version plus the opponents. F Troop, they could do it after the Lone Ranger movie line ends to provide more Western...
