Re: CCC 19 - The Question Thread - and FAQ

Hi everyone
Question about the 48x48 rule on the civilian building : does it *need* to be 48 max or could it it larger but keeping the total surface area below 2304 studs?
Thanks

Re: CCC XI cross category awards

Wow, I'm much honoured by the title, thanks a lot! Guess I know whom my next MOC should be about :) Funny thing is, I went here while my comp was uploading the full set of pictures, with some historical explanation http://www.flickr.com/photos/63898620@N04/13147795995/ Also, congratulation to everyo...

Re: CCCX The Door of Saint Georges

Nope it's not based on a particular design, more like the illustrations I cited above and what I could come up with lego parts... It is not based on St George's chapel, as I indicated I made up the whole thing, sorry if I misled people! I built the whole thing and then had to name it, St George soun...

A shame you could not finish it for the contest, I love the atmosphere and the melting snow feel

Re: CCCX The Door of Saint Georges

Thanks for your comments. Although I cannot judge how common it was, having a statue in between the two leaves of the door was not unseen. See for example the following link: http://bibliotheque-numerique.inha.fr/collection/11501-dictionnaire-raisonne-de-l-architecture/ on page 419, 428, etc... Now ...

CCCX The Door of Saint Georges

My third and last entry for the CCCX (architectural detail): the door of Saint George. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8503/8329229513_5208e6095e_n.jpg The door of Saint George is the main door to Saint George Chapel of Windsor castle*, which is where the Order of the Garter convenes every year. Here ...

CCCX Francis of Assisi

Here's Francis of Assisi for the realistic castle figure category http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8216/8329229645_0d13c3a358_n.jpg I guess everyone has heard of the founder of the franciscan order who happens to be a very sympathetic figure (at least to me  ). As he is the patron saint of the an...

CCCX Casileàn Bhaile Atha Troim

Dear all Here's a castle I have been building since my holidays in Ireland (back in May... I'm a very slow builder) and incidentally finished for CCCX :D. It's inspired by Trim castle, a very large anglo-norman castle in county Meath. In late 1330 after the downfall of the Mortimer, trusted men of t...

Death of the Duke

Dear friends Here's my new MOC: the death of the Duke. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7142/6823369049_5f5479b0d9_m.jpg I decided to make something somewhat smaller than my church, in order to build it fast and spend some times on the details. At the end of the day, it still took me six months to make...

Apart from the apple-eating guy which adds a nice touch of humour, I really like your undead dragon!

I like it a lot!

I could also try to have the jester juggle/play tricks with blue/white/red round bricks.

Re: Monthly Challenge #11: Conflict!

Here's my entry, the battle of the ford (until I find a more original name). Funnyly enough, I was planning to build a battlefield to display my minifigs on a permanent basis. This challenge happened just on time :D! I owe thanks to Jamerco (who built the Battle of Grunwald shown above) who somehow ...

Re: Planning your MOC

Last time I built a relatively large moc, I had a basic idea of how things should look (i.e. a bell tower like my village's, a church on top of a hill, some kind of pattern on the floor). I also wanted to have stained glass windows eilonwy's style and church doors like rhox's (to improve my building...

Re: Death of the old Count

Thanks for your comments! I'll try photographing it outside. It's what I used to do before but this time the Moc is not quite portable... which reminds me of two weeks ago when a friend of mine came home while I was building a display (in an i**a shelf) for my brand new imperial flagship. The displa...

Death of the old Count

The old count has fallen on field of battle. Two of his sons and men from his retinue bring him to his final resting place, the church of the Holy Trinity built by his crusader ancestor. http://www.flickr.com/photos/63898620@N04/sets/72157626934981642/ Dear all It has been quite a time since my last...
