Re: The hollow part of the castle on large scale build?
If you EVER are at a convention I am at, PLEASE feel free to ask me for a tour... Frank I can attest to the fact that the interiors of Frank's buildings are at least as well thought out and impressive as the exteriors. I got to see a number of them at Bricks Cascade last year, though we ended up ru...

Re: The hollow part of the castle on large scale build?
Other ideas to consider: If you want to hold up a particularly tall section, there are a number of variations of LEGO girders that are 2 bricks wide x 2 bricks long x 10 bricks high. They're designed to be supports, and they do that task quite well. I agree with the sentiments put forward by others ...

Bricks Cascade 2014 Castle coordination thread
Classic-Castle Colleagues!
Who's coming to Bricks Cascade next month in Portland, OR? What are you bringing, and how much space do you need for it? (And, if you're ffilz, how large an army of staff do you need to help set it up? )
Cheers,
Sean

Re: Bricks By the Bay 2014 LCC coordination thread
I'll be there as Battle theme coordinator. I'll probably be too tied up with Battle tasks and too constrained as to what I can transport from Washington to California to commit to doing an LCC collab.

Re: VOTE: Bricks Cascade 2014 castle theme categories
Okay, I've been asked for the final list, so it looks as though we're going with
Best Building
Best Faction
Best Fantasy Creation
Best Fortification
Thanks for the votes (and, in AK_Brickster's case, the reasoning behind each vote)!

Re: THE HOBBIT TRAILER
I saw it last night and was not too impressed. You could barely even tell that it was based off of the book, and not just because they added things, which is to be expected when you stretch a 200-page book into 3 movies. They also took a lot of book content out, and totally changed what little was ...

VOTE: Bricks Cascade 2014 castle theme categories
Okay, gang, it's almost time for me to submit the list of categories for the Castle theme at Bricks Cascade 2014. I'd like you to help me do that by weighing in on what categories are most interesting to you. We need to come up with a list of about 4 categories, so, drawing either from the list belo...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
LOL it is from doing a lot of MHS (Cafe Corner) layouts that I discovered that we don't need the pin connections. We do some sort of "street scene" at almost every VicLUG display and I use my lamposts, garbage bins and trees to join the modules together. :D I think it should be noted in t...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
I love the idea of realigning CCC wall sections to base8 alignment. It does seem like a bit of a "no-brainer" to me and I cannot think of any real objections. Of course, I do see objections for the "interior" which is why I suggest bare baseplates for the interior. If we move to...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
I love the idea of realigning CCC wall sections to base8 alignment. I love the idea of standardizing on baseplate-plus-brick as the height. In fact, for a lot of the stuff I've been building recently, I've been using baseplate-plus-brick-plus-plate. This allows me to put 1x2 bricks with Technic pin...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
So let's propose some alternate color palettes, and we can work some transitions so older modules can be mixed. Let's also add an optional water standard that uses baseplate plus plate or tile, but also acknowledge that people may want to do different things with water, and as long as they cooperat...
