Re: CCCX-Pass of Caradhas

Looks great. I especially like Bill's load and Gandalf's blue hat.

Re: Dear Lego: Please remain involved with Lego fan conventi

I'm not whining. I have yet to give my opinion on this. I have only stated facts. If you want my opinion, see me in chat. Sorry if you misunderstood me Blue At the risk of being off topic, I would like to add a few thoughts after my previous post as to not just whine. I was only referring to MY pre...

Re: Dear Lego: Please remain involved with Lego fan conventi

At the risk of being off topic, I would like to add a few thoughts after my previous post as to not just whine. TLG's decision might feel like they are giving some of us the shaft, but I would like to point out that they let EB release they news about Series 9 minifigs(and past series). That's a big...

Re: Dear Lego: Please remain involved with Lego fan conventi

I just heard about this today from a LEGO Store employee after I mentioned the tiered discount for conventions. I understand this as a business decision but it will make me shop at Target and TRU for LEGO deals instead of the LEGO Store exclusively like I do now. I also understand they plan on...

Re: CC Set Review: 6011 Black Knight's Treasure

I had to think about this one for awhile. It's not a complicated or exciting build. When compared to the Mirkwood Elf set, (which I use for comparison because it's a modern set with a similar price point) it's a pretty simple build. All that said, I love this set the way I love boxed mashed potatoes...

Black Friday at the LEGO Store

I just got home after fighting the crowds, but it was worth it. TLS had a random 10%, 20%, or 50% off at the register. I just got 3 boxes of brick for 20% off total plus a free surprise set (not a big deal, but I'll take it). If anyone is near a store and has a big purchase to make it might be worth...

Re: Articulated Miniature Legs

Wow, those look really sweet. Unfortunately, my budget is tied up in a big project right now, but when i'm done I hope these are still available. Dark Brown would be good for most of the LOTR stuff, except for Ori whose legs are Dark Bley (I think).

Re: Custom Capes

Nice work. I made some custom capes with that printable fabric last year. I sprayed them with acrylic clear matte on both sides, then painted the inside with the cheap acrylic craft paint that comes in hundreds of colors. I had some problems with paint bleed through on holes in the weave that were n...

Re: Colossal Castle Contest 9: Winning Entries

An HM? Thanks, judges! I felt honored to compete with so many great builders. Thank you to the judges for all your work on this contest, and thanks to everyone who was kind enough to donate the prizes. This was my first Lego contest and I had a ton of fun. I am challenged and inspired by this years ...

Re: Beyond the lake

Nice work. The snow on the tree and bush and the plants growing out of the water are my favorite parts. The only criticism I would offer is about your photography. I've been finding that more than anything more light is better. I try to get the lighting to look good, then double it. It makes fine de...

Re: Interest in the "Lands of Classic Castle" Group Project!

Maybe interested. My parts/figs would limit me to green or red factions to do well. It seems like a few folks have really picked up the ball and run with it, I've seen some great ideas and this looks like it's going to be really cool. I need to see some more details before I commit because I'm not s...

Re: Guilds of Historica on Eurobricks

I've been thinking about this and had a slightly different idea to throw out. The map idea is cool as well as the competition element and an expanding and more intricate world, but the guilds on EB seem like a lot of work for somebody. My proposal is that every two months (except during contest seas...
