A "banner year" for Castle? That is quite a strong statement. I guess that means we'll see some new Castle stuff around the fall? I had suggested that the large "bio-knights" might be a way to attract more attention to a minifig scaled castle line, I'm glad that is starting to so...

I really don't see the appeal of the supposedly "great" megabloks dragons line. All it appears to be is a bunch of very large pre-molded parts, even more juniorized than the LEGO sets we complain about. However, the Orc minifigs looked really cool. If I see some of those for sale again, I ...

I got this set back in the day and I still have it. The fence parts fall off easily. That would be my only real complaint with this set. Conceptually, I love the idea of a guy smuggling treasure under bales of hay. The peasant, hood, and pitchfork all give this set some "rare parts" appeal...

Why are all of the knights left-handed?

Why does the text near the top say "...write their name under the shield emblem to the right..." when the shield emblems are on the left?

Not that I believe this is a hoax, but why the errors?

Yeah, I just saw that on Lugnet. It's not a leak or a rumor anymore, since it's in an official LEGO publication.

Hopefully this is just setting the stage for some real castle stuff.

I doubt that LEGO is doing that, but it's a clever idea. Escaflowne is actually one of the best anime series I've ever seen. Followed by one of the worst anime movies I've ever seen. Anyway, we should see what they've got planned sometime in the coming year. I like to believe they aren't stupid, so ...

Lego failed with Castle in the late 90s. Fright Knights, Knight's Kingdom, etc. It was not good and I would assume it sold poorly as it should have. Bionicle supposedly sells well. MegaBlocks has a strong medieval theme right now. Maybe LEGO doesn't want to compete with MegaBlocks in a theme where t...

Excellent deal for $20. Compare that to what you get for $20 now. Snapes Classroom? Aragog in the Dark Forest? This was a great value. Two factions, a good assortment of figs and parts, etc. I wish I could have bought more than one of these when they were still available.

The information came from what appeared to be the web sites of various distributors. The prices, set numbers, release dates, and names came from these sites. There were also listings of a bunch of other 2004 sets. Also note that I've seen this information on three different sites. One of them listed...

The price was 14.90 and there was no currency symbol. The same site lists the newest Star Wars Mini sets for 14.90 as well, and those Star Wars sets are $7 each. I guess it is pretty safe to say that the new castle sets are also $7 each. Sadly, the $7 price supports the bionicle rumor . (note the em...

8770 Danju the wise 8771 Jayko the hero 8772 Rascus the joker 8773 Santis the strong 8774 Vladek the black knight These are supposed to come out in May. They all have the same price, but the price I saw was in a foreign currency, so I don't know what it means in Dollars. I also heard a bad rumor tha...

For less than $10, you got two minifigs, a castle wall section, a horse, and plenty of equipment. Yeah, buying this was definitely one of my better ideas. I'm glad I have it. If I wasn't so poor when I was younger, I would have bought multiples of this. By the way, what is the deal with the flimsy p...

My Age

I am 26. I started collecting Castle in 1987 with the Forestmen, and then stopped from 1992-2002. I was around for most of the good stuff and missed most of the bad stuff. Sadly, I don't have many of the 1984 and 1985 sets, but I do have good sets like Battering Ram, Knight's Stronghold, and Armor S...

That new helmet is very nice. Much better than the stupid helmets they had been making in the 90s.

That picture has a very medieval feel to it, and I really like it.
