Re: Castle and Tolkien sets for 2013
I do like to chime in when new sets are announced. The new Castle line feels familiar, and not in the best of ways, but as with nearly any Castle-theme set, I can see things I'd like to have in addition to the whole lot of extraneous bits. New Minifigs and heraldry, I'd like to get my hands on. Yes,...

Re: CCCIX Celebration Entry - Michaelmas
Wow! Renaissance style Basilica. Gorgeous, very appropriate, and very accurate. The scene is lovely, too. Love those crownie-esque stained glass windows.

Re: Nuremberg Toy Fair: 2011 Kingdoms Set Pictures
Boy, this is the best news since a few weeks ago when cleaning out a closet and boxes full of family photos, I found a black peasant's "backpack", Dragon Master head and a classic brown ax on the bottom. Every set has parts I want, and every set goes on my wishlist. The farm/mill most obvi...

Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
I'd like to see more brown horses as well. Heck, I'd like to see a lot more variety in the horses.
We need light gray and tan horses. And I'd flip out of Lego produced a red-brown horse with tan hair and feet (A Clydesdale).

Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
Yes, but 7946 King's Castle is just "King's Castle" so far and "Castle" at the NY toy fair. EDIT: Oh and on "Dark Knight Tower", the set name is 7947 Prison Tower Rescue (So far!). The box is still a preliminary image though meaning, it could be "Dark Knight Tower...

Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
Wow. A new Robin Hood figure. Excellent, excellent. So ... on faction names ... what are we looking at here? Red Lions , Green Dragons ? The set names and packaging do not appear to suggest faction names. Hopefully they'll leave that to the imagination. That itself is in keeping with the throwback ...

Wow. A new Robin Hood figure. Excellent, excellent. (I'll gladly try to "forget" about Elves if this means that an updated Forestmen theme is forthcoming)

Red Lions, Green Dragons?

Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
I guess I'll chime in a little late, but certainly excited. There's a ton to like. I love the use of red roofs. I love the red 1x2 half-pyramid slopes on top of the battlements (I did something extremely similar to that on one of my Pirate MOCs, only a white fortress with pointed gold tips). Those e...

Re: My first Castle MOC in 7 years! (Work in Progress)
This is one of my favorite MOCs in recent memory. The whole package is what appeals to me. It's sizable, but it's not so outrageously large that it seems impractical (from a builder and an MOC Scottish Lord's POV). The accuracy and indestructibility of the thick walls appeals to me - and the walls b...

Re: Castle Neverend by bradojp
Wow.
Great tents ... great trees ... good use of BURPs ... that is a LOT of Harry Potter green rooftops ...
I think my favorite thing on this entire, too much to comment on castle, has got to be the merchant tarps with the scalloped, alternating red/white and blue/yellow.

Re: Elm Castle
This is my kind of castle. I don't have much to say in the way of criticism (I adore Forestmen and everything is ship-shape). Although I agree with Stahlregen that everything's better with interiors. But what I think strikes me the most are the black roofs on the great Tudor constructions. I love th...

This is exciting news (Prince of Persia should help a lot of people get more variety into their "Saracen armies" and what-not). But the main attraction of this Disney deal, at least for me, lies in the future. Should the likely "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" film come out in the ne...

Wolfpack for me is like a medieval mafia. They fill a ton of roles. Extortion - Much of their influence is because they extort money out of innkeepers and shop-owners in a "protection racket" kind of scheme. "We'll protect you from anything bad happening". That's not to say they ...

Re
I like that Troll Fortress. It's not as rock-solid a design as some of the stuff they've been producing, but it has that rag-tag Troll feel that makes you think of Orc-towers in Lord of the Rings, it has brown pieces I can totally use, and it has the Troll Witch and apparently a new "hero"...
