'Lift Off' large castle sections
Heya! I've been working on a project where I had similar issues. Several sections of my project lift off for access into the lower rooms. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/DaveOhare01/CastleII/North-Tower/100_1705.jpg Ginormous image turned into link by your friendly neighborhood Admin. C'mon, you k...

Big Castles
Howdy all! It's always nice to see one oy projects mentioned. I love to build big -- but the truth is, I just build a lot (a LOT) of rooms and then small scenes in them. So, regardless of how big or small you like to build, it's the detail that counts! Anyway, my current project is expanded to 8 by ...

Raised areas
Howdy! I feel building castles on a raised area really does look the best. What I do is add quite a few rooms under the raied area -- why waste the space? So, doing that, for me anyway, creates a large open space, which I don't have to fill -- and largely dictates how I need to cover it over. In the...

Coming to Brickworld
heya! I think I am going to make Brickworld my first major show. It looks like a LOT of fun! I would like to bring the Black Falcon's Citadel, as well as some additional layout around it. There will be an additional 4x8 of ocean and islands plus 4x8 of town area. Of course, I've yet to lay a single ...

Heya all! I think I missed this thread! Thanks for all the compliments, comments and criticisms! I agree -- there is not nearly enough detail in these pics. I had to remove a lot of the best stuff to transport the thing, and there was just not enough time. I do indeed promise there will be a LOT of ...

Thanks again! Indeed -- it's a little crazy big -- but lots of fun none the less! *chuckle* As for some of the floors using SNOT -- it was for several reasons. Half the time I was out of light gray plate. alas. The other half of the time, I wanted a flat surface so, indeed, I could angle the catapul...

Ahoy! Thanks a ton for the complliments! :) I think this has been a work in progress for about 18 months at this point. Quite a while, alas! I think it will be completed in about 3 months -- a lot of the wait time is the cost of parts. At this scale, the cost is more than a little prohibitive! After...

Black Falcon's Citadel Updated
Howdy! Finally getting some more work done on the citidel, where every Falcon loves to spend the summer! The rooms are not furnished yet in this section and the kids keep knocking all the flowers off -- so these are just structural pics. Any comments or suggestions are MORE than welcome! And....if y...

Sweeeet!
Wow! It seems to be the month for awesome castles! Loved the interior detail as well -- the beds are excellent! I did get a laugh from the roof scene, where one fellow was in terror and the soldier on the wall had just yet to notice his impending doom. Very cool landscaping, I'm always a fan of ANYT...
