Re: Kingdoms Chess!!!

This is a planned set not just a 'throw spare parts together to shovel them out the door' type set. It'd be far easier to churn out some Battlepacks or even put the Minifigure Parts in the BaM bins than to create a set around them. To me the wall-like base is no different than some of the other... p...

Re: Series 7.... It's a Boar! (and other castle parts)

I like the Evil Knight 'fig and will likely collect a number of them, if I get lucky enough to come across them before others. Ten to twelve sound slike a nice group of them to me.
I will say I'll likely pick up any and every aztec warrior 'fig I come across...

Re: The Good Wizard's House

I really dig the foliage and animals on this MOC, I do not have any issues with the pitch of the roof (steepness) to me that just says this area gets a LOT of snow and needs to be able to shed it as it builds up. The transition between the two planes of the roof does seem a bit awkward though, but i...

Re: Series 6 is in stores with some castle worthy figures.

It looks feminine to me. She has that blacked out part of the torso to show that she has a curvy body, and I think that Viking men wore only one brooch, though I could be wrong on that last bit. It bugs me that TLG have started doing that. 1. Because it implies that all women have these curvy figur...

Re: A way to find Romans

I made co-worker happy with a robot and found the last two a retired co-worker was looking for for her grandson while I was going thru a display looking for anything that carries a shield, a second robot for myself and every alien I could find. Also helped a lil kid and his mom get bandit and anothe...

Re: A way to find Romans

Right, that sounds like a good plan, unless you also want some of the 'figs with less bulky items as well. I'm personally after a few more robots, and about 8 to 10 more aliens and as many Highland Warriors and Romans as I can discern. I've only just started my hunt the other day but have 15 of the ...

Generally any of the Stanley organizers say they have adjustable compartments the compartments do NOT come out. The one Stanley that that Home Depot carries with removable bins is http://www.homedepot.com/Stanley/Stanley/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1f7Z1f7/R-100375900/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=1005...

Re: Great window technique

Kind of surprised that Katie didn't find this technique first. Unless she already has... I don't recall seeing anything like it in her photostream but I do occasionally miss some of our Paragon of Patterns, the Mistress of Cheese Slopes creations. This is an interesting technique to be sure, great ...

Re: is lego using lower quality plastic?

I recall reading someplace that cheese slopes are made from a somewhat different plastic than the regular bricks, in a similar manner that the transparent bricks are. I'm not recalling where exactly that was, Eurobricks perhaps. What I am recalling is cheese slopes will be more prone to crack as the...

There are some reports over on Brickset that folks are finding Series 6 at Fred Meyers and Targets in various parts of the country.

Re: Archaeology in a Grab Bag

I'd easily bet that local demographics affect how often you see Grab Bags. I live in MN where the first LEGO Brand Retail store opened inside the Mall of America. Thus there are many folks well educated to the allure of the Grab Bags and they tend to go fairly quickly. I'd definitely call it a High ...

Re: LEGO Friends line

Did they spend a lot of money on developing Friends? yes. But it's no less than what they'll spend on LOTR, or have spent on Harry potter, PotC or Star Wars.... I'm sure there is some risk, but from what I've seen it's not a big one. Why? despite having the new 'Friends 'fig' they took the time and ...

Re: Archaeology in a Grab Bag

Grab bags can have a few sources for their contents. From conversations I've had the primary sources are damaged/returned sets and PaB 'sweepings' and small lot leftovers. I never to to the local store reliably, but sometimes folks in the LUG post when they've seen the Grab Bags. The way i understan...

Re: Question about Buying on Amazon

What wobnam says is true, Amazon both sells AND facilitates sales for others. So you can see, Sold by and ships from Amazon, Sold by whomever and Shipped by Amazon and Sold by whomever else and shipped by whomever else on their site. The pages look pretty much the same except for the line wobnam poi...

Re: review: 9440

I must say one of the reasons I grabbed a copy of this set first time I saw one WAS the snakes :^) As for the Staff, it's more of a magic casting staff verus a melee staff. I also like and wanted to see the 'Brick faced' 1x2 bricks or as I've heard them called, Brick Bricks.... they are interesting,...
