I thought I had heard of a store of some kind in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Can anyone verify if there is LEGO store there? I will be driving to FL next week and want to stop in if there is one.

The set is selling for US$50 at the Chicago LEGO Store.

I think for my favorite right now, I would have to say Princess Storm. But then I am biased. There are not many female figs to choose from. For the most useful, I think the simple scale armor is the best.

I own a copy of this set. It just about doubled my castle collection when I received it. It is one of the ones I periodically rebuild (to relive all those glorious childhood days). Definately a great selection of minifigs.

I use the Gungan mounted warriors from SW and the orc-things from the HP series (the creatures with the short legs). Also, the previously mentioned pirates, etc.

Toysrus.com (Amazon) also has some sets reduced to 50% off (including Dumbledore's Office and the Scorpion Palace). Also, the stores have had many of the small Orient Expedition sets at 50% off (good for parts).

Has anyone checked out any of the outlets referred at the below link?

Also my first major castle set. I loved the Black Falcons. They would always lay seige to my brother's knights. A simple, sturdy set. Too bad they are so hard to come by now.

I use "Greased Lightning" for cleaning, diluted with water. It cleans most stains without being overly aggressive to the brick surface.

I am in the general Tampa area.

Does anyone know of Lego-based events in the Southeast, particularly Florida? I've read of several events that sound great in other areas of the country, but nothing in this area.

I prefer the crossbow for defense from static structures. The long bow is great for battlefield engagements. A smaller bow from horseback. A combination makes for great speed, mobility and range.

The spear is the best weapon as it is closest to the quarter staff which is perhaps the best close range weapon of all.

It seems to me that Lego has become complacent over the past several years. There are too many specialty bricks in the newer sets. However, the material of construction still holds up as good as ever.
