Re: LEGO* Gold Vintage Series
Unfortunately, they discontinued it. I can't remember all the reasons that they gave, but I know that one was the difficulty of remaking the elements because many of them aren't in the current production runs. The reason I got from Jamie Berard was that not enough AFOLs were buying them. I expect A...

Re: favorite skeleton type?
I don't think they've made a skeleton that I like through-and-through yet. Heads: I definitely like the old-style heads the best. They were expressionless and gaunt, the way I'd prefer them. Newer skeleton heads are a little more over-the-top evil, or even "animated" in the case of the Und...

Re: Least favorite castle set
Well I have not seen this thread since joining so I figured I would post this. I do recall having a discussion on it a little over a year ago: http://www.classic-castle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18608 I think I still stand by my vote of the Grand Tournament, with some close competitors. DaveE

Re: Legoland Castle T-shirt, 6102
I only have one S@H catalog from that era (USA 1987), and it's listed there as item "T-9" or "T-8" for $8.75. Description: Give your favorite builder an official LEGO t-Shirt! Two silk-screened designs and styles in 50% cotton-50% polyester. Youth sizes: Small (6-8), Medium (10-1...

Re: What is the biggest lego castle? What about the best? (IYO)
Well to answer your question it is actually Vladek's Dark Fortress which was released in 2005 with 983 pieces Huh-- LUGNET, Classic-Castle, and Peeron say that Vladek's Dark Fortress had 967 pieces, but BrickSet says 983. King's Castle Siege reportedly had 973 pieces, which would make it "bigg...

Re: The Decline of Lego Castle?
I don't see why everyone dislikes the Fright Knights so much though They're cartoony evil bordering on dumb. The logo is silly, the Bat Lord is over-the-top "evil", as is Willa the Witch. Night Lord's castle even has a red "witch's hat" on the tower. And the Bat Lord holds some ...

Technically, this was also true of the KKI family, although maybe King Leo was red-haired in his youth:

My personal favorites: 1) 6080 King's Castle 2) 6086 Black Knight's Castle 3) 10193 Medieval Market Village As for stats on this thread in particular, and counting ONLY sets that received MORE than 1 vote, if we award 1 point for any set that received a vote (any rank): 13 Medieval Market Village 7 ...

Huh! I've never tried that before. That's the concave side of the bend or the convex side?architect wrote:All you need to do is run hot tap water over the opposite side of the bend. This will cause the baseplate to flatten.

Re: "Unbending" baseplates?
little bit of heat from your oven might help too. Bake element, low heat and keep an eye on it! I recall watching someone boiling LEGO bricks in water which started to deform the bricks? So I'm guessing that it's somewhere in the 150F-200F degree ballpark where you might get the plastic to a point ...

Re: LDD Prices
I was under the opinion that most of the online PAB pieces were left over from production runs of standard sets. Well-- I think it's the same idea, with a different slant to it. I think it's more along the lines of: "We have to make part X for sets A, B, and C. We need 200,000 of them for set ...

Re: LDD Prices
But it sounds like there are plenty of people who find Design-by-Me to be worth it, and I'm probably among a minority. From what I've heard, LEGO has been looking for ideas to make DBM more attractive-- presumably because the prices are far higher than normal LEGO costs, and most people won't pay f...
