I don't like: - the absence of guards to protect the king; - the "mini-castle" behind the king (actually I don't know if it is supposed to be a mini-castle or a giant throne); - prefabricate parts; - Bull knight (who seems to be a soldier rather than a knight!). I like: - the Euro visor, e...

Nice set, simple but good design. About the knight, I assume that he's the chief of the guard and he proudly brings back his prisoner to the lord. If they ride across the plain (and not across the forest), he don't need any more soldier to protect the convoy. But I think that the front and back wind...

And they called it dunjeon !!! This is not a dunjeon. The main minifig is nice, but that's all. Again, they put 2 other flames pieces. As other, I don't like these too small towers and the torches! Look, the soldier weapon is higher than the roof! the crenels are very too low! And I don't understan...

Is THIS a catapult??

What a strange shape! A light cart, two ugly torchs, a barrel on a plank... This is ugly and this cannot be a catapult!

A agree with Jojo!

The first #6030 (http://www.1000steine.de/users/brickset ... 6030-1.jpg) is a catapult!

Simple versus detailed minifig design

As you ever have noticed : - some minifig parts are very simple, their design is in the same way as general designs of sets (for example about castle): see classic visors and 6037/375 armors; - some other minifig parts are detailed and more realistic (like Playmobil!!): see the euro armor and helmet...

I think that before thinking about changing wall colors, general design, etc., Lego wanted to give a "less simple" shape, a different "less square" shape to its castles. Selling always the same king/design of sets should not be a good thing for toy compagnies! About the walkways,...

Rather than feeling jealous, I would like to know if differents torsos/shields can help to date classic sets. For example, are pink 375 shields older than purple ones?

Very not as playable as catapults, as it has been said. :?

But nice and realistic design, and very nice minifigs with grey pants, lion torsos and wraps!!

8.5/10.

To me, when became "non realistic" factions as Forestmen, ghosts, etc., it is less classic.

But I think too that the commony classic-castle named age is up to the golden age...

Does "classic" mean "realistic (i.e. as classic as real castles)" or mean "old"?

A very simple set -- too simple? no, just simple enought to be a small cart. I agree with TwoTonic Knight and Porschecm2, but I think a medieval town must have small sets: small carts, small buildings, etc. as in reality! But something strange/wrong: only one soldier to protect a treasure?!! Then, I...

My favorite castle set? I don't know...

First knight tournament (383/6083) because it was my first one?
Guarded inn because it is very pretty? [see my avatar!]
Yellow castle for its very nice minifigs [see my avatar!] and because it is less "cheaped made" than other castles?

They are too fantastic to get with my classic mediaval sets, but I will probably buy a small minifig set like #6777 (but they are not sold to France...).

I still remember these first gray walls, these "fig" horses (one of my friends had them when I still had builded horses, and I was prefering mine... but when I was offered "fig" horses, I thought they were very better!!), these many sets... Compare the ugly castles and carts/wago...

The set is nice, I like the design, but it's "too economic": only three soldier to protect The King???!!!!! a so simple carriage for the King???!!!! Hum...

I don't like the torches on the sides, I would prefer lanterns (a round clear brick would be more realistic).

6/10.
