Ochre_Jellly just made a video on custom coloring pieces. It's actually really funny too.
Check it out: here.

Re: Online Parts Draft - SIGN UP IS FULL
Did we say we were splitting the 1x2 light bleys? There will be 128 and that would mean in one pick, someone would already make about half of their piece count back. Other than all of the Uruk minifig parts being split, I think we're good.

Re: Online Parts Draft - SIGN UP IS FULL
Alright, I sent in my payment. I'm saying a slower approach. It'll be more fun. It might be possible just to complete it in one day/night/block of time, though. If we hollow out some time that works for everyone we could go through it pretty quickly online. (Although, we are international and in dif...

Re: Online Parts Draft - SIGN UP IS FULL
I cast my vote for Uruk-Hai as it's cheaper and Elrond has a not as great price per piece ratio anyway.

Re: Online Parts Draft - Sign Up and Discuss!
Count me in! While I understand wanting to keep it small, I feel all the great parts/best price are in the $30 price range. Granted, more expensive, but forest ambush has nothing particular in the range of interesting elements other than the figs (which to me, are still uninteresting). My top 3: 1. ...

Hey, looks pretty great. I really love the front of the main hall. All that dark tan makes me jealous.

The Lego Movie - Now Official?
So...I'm browsing Youtube, right? Watching some Lego Stopmotion animation, when I find this ad: (link) And then I'm thinking... :o ... :twitch: ... Official description reads: "The LEGO® Movie," the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO® adventure, directed by Phil Lord & Chr...

The pictures that Imagine has posted really don't do the MOC justice. Seeing the creation for the first time at Brickworld 2013 was amazing.

Re: Think there will be a third LotR wave?
With two more Hobbit movies still to be released (as of the timing of this post), I couldn't imagine Lego not trying to squeeze as much money from the licenses while they're still popular. I'm sure most of us hope that LotR will continue on to be a perpetual license as Star Wars has been. Some reall...

Re: Ever been called a blockist!?!?
Yeah, I'm very blockist, but I have also come to appreciate other builders like Dave Xandegar from Brixwerx as an artist. I think it's important that we keep an open mind too. Lego fans tend to have a very elitist attitude. And if staying purist makes me happy, then I'm happy. If they aren't, and th...

Re: The Worst King
By far the worst king must be: http://www.bricklink.com/ml/cas420.jpg (via Bricklink ) The Troll/Orc King. Think about it. He's only the king because he's the strongest and can push everyone around. If you don't follow his orders, he'll kill you. If you're not under his command, he'll search you out...

To end this discussion, I'll leave some music for those interested. C418-Sweden YES! Sweden is my favorite song from C418. (If you like Sweden, check out the Remix by Caution and Crisis) Recently, I've been listening to a band called Two Door Cinema Club which is a British band that has a lot of gr...

Re: Castle and Tolkien sets for 2013
Let's stay on-topic, gents. If the small castle set is $10, then that's only $2.50 a minifig, plus parts. Seems like a whale of a deal to me! Yeah, I agree. The $10 will more than likely become a great army builder set. I really gotta see the designs first. I felt like there was some progression in...
