Getting lowered a rank
Greetings, I have a quick question that I hope someone will be able to answer. Why is it that I am still a "Gong Farmer" even though I posted over 100 post? If anyone can get back to me on that it would be great.
Thanks
Thanks

Just a supposition, but I'd say you've been branded with the dreaded, "Noob of the month" designation. It tends to happen when a relatively new person posts in mass quantities over a short period of time. Also, digging up old threads tends to hack people off (particularly a few Admins who will remain nameless).
Don't get discouraged, though. It's all in good fun. And my advice to you if you want to talk about a subject that's been dead for 4 years is to just start a new thread. Don't do that for like, 30 dead subjects, but a few here and there are acceptable.
All things in moderation.

I doubt anybody's upset. Digging up old threads is just a pet peeve for some people. Don't let it discourage you from participating.

Generally, I think the reason that topic necromancy is disliked is because it distorts the 'time frame' - it's better to have old topics at the back of the forum with the current issues on the first page. If too many old topics are brought back, you end up with a fairly random assortment of topics and users from all over the board's history. Of course, this isn't as bad as spamming or flamers, so generally it's okay if it's just occasional and there's a good reason for it.The Shadow Knight wrote:Thank you for your words of wisdom, and I apologize to everyone I upset, and I can assure that it won't happen again.

I'd guess its because your posts seem a bit sloppy and not very well thought out. For example, I'd refer you to this one:The Shadow Knight wrote:Greetings, I have a quick question that I hope someone will be able to answer. You forgot an option for the poll, which is generally excusable, but here it wasn't like you had a lot to remember (only 4 knights).
It just seems like you are posting for the sake of posting r to get a better title... either of which aren't popular around here.
So here's the solution to your dilemma, in four easy steps: (1) settle down, don't act like a hyped up child who got into the sugar bowl; (2) make your posts more even keeled and thoughtful; (3) enjoy your new title, its a sign people have noticed you... though not necessarily in a good way; and (4) don't worry about it, even the venerable Councilor of the Realm got temporarily branded with that title for poking fun at an admin or two or three or four...

Posting to raise your post count and to change your title is frowned apon at CC. When replying to a thread, please post why you like a creation. We encourage everyone to add to the conversation. The Shadow Knight wrote:O alright thanks for sharing that info with me. Will the Admins just fix it, or do I have to do something?
You can post to old threads if it is relevant. One good example are weekly set reviews. Many old threads probably do not need to be added to.
Custom titles are usually given for a small time period and then removed by admins. Please also check out the terms of service here: http://www.classic-castle.com/tos.html Thanks.

It is also a quick way to get your post count reset to zero. Which can be, and has been done.architect wrote:Posting to raise your post count and to change your title is frowned apon at CC.
