Question about Memberlist

Post by Matt BeDar »

Is there anyway for Mods or Admins to delete names from the memberlist? I ask this question because there is a rather offensive name on the newest page.

Thanks in advance if you take 'im down.

I believe names are taken off the list once a member is deleted, so once they remove said user, off the list he shall go.

I think usually if you spot a member like this that you think the Mods/Admins missed, you can just PM one of them and they will take care of it.

It is irritating, but just as with offensive/spam posts, there's not really anything that can be done until an admin/mod is aware of it. Deleting usernames by themselves is pretty much impossible and rather pointless anyway as the majority of people with bad usernames end up posting spam and getting banned anyway. The only possible thing would be a name filter but that would be very tedious and not much more effective.

As it is, the best we members can do is ignore these morons and get on with Lego.

We often delete new users who are advertising or linking to various commercial sites. Occasionally we will miss a spammer or many will sign up at one time.

Feel free to pm an admin about particularly offensive spammers. However, we do not need a pm for every spammer selling web hosting, ED treatments, etc. We delete those new members on a regular basis.

I was just looking in the memberlist and it's gone! :D

Yeah, usually the admins can deal with this rubbish fairly quickly.

Hey, thought I might bring this up: There was a minor name near the the bottom of the memberlist, zero postings, name= snail*** (Not to be confused with the other snail username below it) I was just wondering if that was against the rules.

Is what against the rules? Having a similar username, or not posting?

No, I meant the name itself. I might be over-exaggerating here, but I'm just curious. If it was about similar usernames, I'd be telling on myself for that second username THAT I STILL WANT SOMEBODY TO DELETE!!!!!! I don't like living against the law. It's not fun. So, could somebody PLEASE delete it?

EDIT: My "second identity" is FirebenderDude. Pretty much my username, but without the 2.
