A suggestion.

Post by Peppermint Pig »

I hope CC wasn't hacked and this is just some intentional April Fool's joke.

Anyhow, my suggestion: Given the Castles Layout section is used so very little in comparison to other sections, and the desire to discuss large scale layout in a general manner, would it be possible to move those posts to a thread in the general section?

To me, the ideal would be to combine discussion about display (for shows or home) and publishing/photography... storage, mobility, and maintenance topics would perhaps fall in here??

Anyhow, that's my suggestion. Take it or leave it! :)

I dont think deleting one of our forums would help us too much, but its a good idea anyhow.

Hopefully we can fix this awful tragedy. Maybe its an admins joke

Well, I'm not saying delete everything in the Castle Displays section. Just move it to the general section, so we can discuss displays in general, and include photography/publishing in with that. It just makes more sense to me.

Personally, I believe every forum has a purpose. No matter what. The display forum may be inactive, but it becomes active every time a convention comes around, and it becomes useful. While you argue a good point, I think the admins made each forum for a reason, and they are setup this way for a reason.

I do not dispute the value of the section for discussing displays. I question whether we can broaden its function by moving the content to the general section. Of all people, I should know the value of a forum which stays on topic and in theme. However, I do not believe infrequent Castle Display discussions would be impacted negatively if we were to see CC users posting about displays in general (Display discussions are a group activity, so bias towards the theme will remain), or related issues such as photography.

This would sensibly combine the two least active sections together and shorten the CC section listing.

As a former admin of a theme related site myself, I can say that reason is not the enemy of organization: Over time it's not bad to try different things with layout in the name of efficiency, or practicality... Again, I'm fine either way, as this is only a suggestion, but I believe this would be an improvement.
