Overposts and Bumping

Post by Peppermint Pig »

I appreciate the concern of dealing with overposts and bumping. I once ran a very active forum with over a thousand members myself so I know what it's like to deal with problems of this sort.

I disagree with the judgment made on my activity to a degree. I posted consecutively, yes, but I am not guilty of 'bumping': I posted new information each time, and never twice in the same day. I consider that to be an important criteria in determining whether something is spam/overpost/bumping or if it is justified.

From now on I will edit my posts and only start a new consecutive post in the thread if it falls off the first page.

Thank you for your cooperation. It is much appreciated.

Regarding your disagreement about what constitutes "bumping", it is always better to privately go to the Admin or Mod who made the call before taking it public.

Thank you,
Josh

Ahh. I have no problem with moderators enforcing the rules and will send a PM to them if I think they're off base. I've never had that kind of problem here with anyone in the administration or the mods, though.

This is a question of policy and should not reflect negatively on the moderator who was doing their job. I see no harm in having an open and rational discussion. If you want to do more of that in private, I can comply with that also.
