FAQ discussion

Hey all,

First up, I want to remind everyone that the FAQ exists. Probably once a month someone asks some question like how to post links, or change their avatar, or some other question that would have been easily answered by reading the FAQ.

Second, I wanted to ask your help identifying what topics are missing from the FAQ. Either ones that I could write an answer for, or ones that I could just include links to past discussions. For instance, I'm going to add a question for "How do you sort your LEGO?", and then put in some links to past versions of this discussion.

So, what else do you want to see in the FAQ?

There is already some info on how to post images, but since the majority of people now use Flickr, maybe a step-by-step walk through on how to link photos from Flickr would be helpful to a lot of newbies. They make it super easy by generating the BBCode for you, but a lot of people still seem to struggle with it at first.

Thanks Bruce!

I am with Ak, i am new to flicker an am having a hard time with the linking of photos. I still use my photobucket but would like to start useing flicker more. Also thank you for creating the sorting your brick in the FAQ.

I know it is going to be daunting, but there are also broken links to photos in the CCC archives, and the section on castle links. This is bound to happen with a forum this old, but while doing research or surffing its kind of anoying to get a 404 error.

If I think of anything else i will certinly post my ideas here.

Curt

Argh, I knew someone would bring up those old link lists. I agree, those have to be massively purged, or just removed altogether. Let's face it, a links list is obsolete the moment it gets posted. It's on my list, but I have to admit it's relatively low on my priorities - I've got a lot of new content I want to produce before trying to go back and weed through the old.
