Alright folks, every two months or so we have a new member starting a new topic about forum ranks, so I've decided to make it simple for everyone and Sticky a list of all known ranks. There are more ranks to be discovered. But remember, don't post just to up your rank. Please do not make further "What are ranks?" threads. Thanks!

0-9: Gong farmer
10-24: Serf
25-49: Villein
50-74: Peasant
75-99: Freeman
100-149: Laborer
150-199: Apprentice
200-249: Foot soldier
250-299: Artisan
300-349: Bailiff

So once you hit the 1000 post mark.... do you become a peer and get to choose your county? Or what? (Yes I know there are few at that level, I'm just curious)

With 1000 you are a Councilor, with 1200 you are a Merchant, with 1400 you are a Sheriff. All what's above that is not known yet because the Non-Admins who reached this amount of posts have special ranks.

I forget if there is something between Sheriff and Knight. I forget what the actual numbers involved were - you'll have to ask Formendacil, since he achieved these before his ascension to Knight Templar as a moderator.

EDIT IN: Where no one will probably find it (haha!) - Sheriff ends at 1599, and Master starts at 1600 (having just posted my 1600th message). Looking down to Formendacil's message below - nope, you got it wrong! :D

Yes, for a short period I outranked myself! That's why they "promoted" me, I think, so as to keep me in my place!

Anyway, to update Nathan's list...

0-9: Gong farmer
10-24: Serf
25-49: Villein
50-74: Peasant
75-99: Freeman
100-149: Laborer
150-199: Apprentice
200-249: Foot soldier
250-299: Artisan
300-349: Bailiff
350-399:Archer
400-449:Journeyman
450-499:Reeve
500-599:Steward
600-699:Squire
700-799:Gentleman
800-899:Man-At-Arms
900-999:Landlord
1000-1199:Councilor
1200-1399:Merchant
1400-1599:Sheriff
1600-1799: ?????
1800-1999: Master
2000-2399: Knight
2400-2799: Knight Bannerett
2800-????: Baron

Now, as regards the rank between Sheriff and Master... I must confess that I have forgotten it completely... Either that, or the rank of Sheriff climbs to 1699, and the rank of Master starts immediately after...

Yeah, I THINK that's it...

pretty extensive stuff here... I wonder how the admins all figured this out? Was it in a history book somewhere?

Everyone pitched in with suggestions. I think the thread was "CC Titles" or something like that.

If Formendacil doesn't remember then we have to wait for someone to get back to those numbers (gonna be a long wait). That would be....Legofreak, assuming the Master Builder title goes away after a year (and further assumes that he doesn't rejoin me as Admin's Whipping Boy for titles once again). After that...geez, me. You have to look fast since my normal title only appears every now and then. Will Lister doesn't post as much, so that makes the most reliable person to watch...Robin Hood. It figures....

Oh does it? If thats the case, you may be waiting a long time.

As to the missing rank in Formendacil's list, sounds like there shouldn't be any, as he said. That way it goes, 100, 100, 100, 100, 200, 200, 300, 300, 400, 400, as opposed to 100, 100, 100, 100, 200, 200, 200, 200, 400, 400. (When I type these numbers, I refer to the number of posts it would take to reach the next title)

I always wondered about that, but never really cared enough to cludder the thread with the question.

Maybe one day, I'll post 1,000 times :D

I've seen a few people with odd, unlisted ranks, how would someone get one of those?

As of now I am a humble gong farmer, I just joined yesterday though I've hung around for a while, so I was just wondering

From what I understand, you either have to the Admin's best friend or worst enemy. May you be protected from either fate! :) (ducks to dodge bolts of lightning). In other words, you have to attract their attention is some fashion. May I forever remain pleasantly invisible. 8)

Josh

PS. Probably back to Gong Farmer (or worse) for me now...
