Avatar Issues

Post by porschecm2 »

I deleted what was my current avatar earlier, to install a new one I had just made. However, it won't let me upload my new one, or any old ones now. The file size and resolutions are fine; even previous avatars I've used here before won't work. I get a list of error messages in what I assume is the PHP code when I try to upload directly from my PC, and when I link to the file at brickshelf, nothing happens whatsoever. Any suggestions?

Well, I can't help you, but I have a question of my own. I can't get a picture that is 120 by 120 and keep to the 10 MB limit. I need to make the picture like 39 by 39 before it is less than 10. I've wrecked my best wrestling pic to try to figure this out.

See this thread (specifically my post, which be the second one down)
viewtopic.php?t=5617&start=105
about removing the EXIF data from your images. That will probably help you guys to get down to the size limit.

porschecm2 is your theme set to the standard CC blue theme or the default phpBB theme? I remember reading something about admins having problems with the standard CC theme, so maybe that causes problems with avatar uploading. :?
Hoping to have a witty signature and cool avatar one day.

I tried changing the theme, but to no avail. I guess for now my avatar will reside in my sig.

This has been mentioned before

viewtopic.php?t=7707

Do not try to change avatar before the issue is fixed, or you will be forced to use standard avatar or non

Try uploading your avatars now. I think that I have corrected the issues with it. Atleast I was able to upload a new avatar and it worked.

Let me know if you encounter any problems.
