[Topic over at EB: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... opic=99430 ]
Dear CC members, although the petition found in the link will explain what is going on, I will say a few words.
As we all know the Lotr and Hobbit line is coming to an end, the license is ending soon and this Hobbit wave will probably be the last we will see.
This petition is an attempt to approuch TLG to still make and complete the Lotr theme with atleast one more wave. Because now it feels and is incomplete, missing important characters, places and battles.
It can be, that this is an desperate call out but if we can gather a big group of supporters for this, TLG would notice it and maybe change something in their planning... maybe, hopefuly :)

Thanks for your help.

I for one, see the Lord of the Rings licence ending as a good thing. The sets were great, but when the LotR ends, More likely than not, we will get an original Castle theme instead, one that is more detailed and better than the current offering. I also much prefer my minifigs to be yellow, and not fleshies.

I will definitely not sign this, and I hope that many people will not.

It's not what you say it's how you say it.

Really? You know there is no castle scheduled for 2015, right? The Hobbit/LOTR license ends next year, and there was probably a finally wave of LOTR sets scheduled for this winter that were canceled due to slow sales. So whether or not those sets get issued in 2015 has *nothing* to do with a return of castle in 2016, only that we'll get nothing castle related at all next year.

And don't kid yourself about "more detailed and better". We have a chance at something really cool and detailed in 2016, but with the failure of the super-detailed LOTR line, the chances are just as good that Lego will go more bright, simplified and kiddieish. I, for one, am supremely bummed by the apparent cancelation of the last few LOTR sets, especially since they promised a return to the battles of Gondor and sets more similar to wave 1.

Very interesting. I definitely liked LOTR and Hobbit sets and would still like to see a few more scenes and locations created. However I prefer non-licensed over a licensed theme any day, for one I do prefer yellow heads over peach and secondly with liecsensed set you get more specific characters which means sets have less random character so making big armies is harder and more expensive. I mean look at the LOTR beside Ork/Uraki is there really any other faction that is easy to get a large army of? That's my opinion. However if they do continue to bring more LOTR and Hobbit sets that would be great as I am willing to go both ways.

If the line continues like these last several Hobbit sets have been, then let it die. If they go back and make them like Helms Deep, Weathertop and Bag End, then I'm all for it continuing. But the last two Hobbit releases have been mighty disappointing.
