Dear Lego, Please bring back the lines 'Wild West' and the minifig scale 'pirates'. these are two great lines I really miss and wish you would bring them back.

What I want to know is why they haven't yet.

I don't know about Europe, but in North America at least, "Wild West" and "Pirates" have got to be about as popular as "Castles".

And I KNOW those themes were really popular.

I'm amazed that no one has thought to cash in on that and bring them back. :?

I'm most surprised that they did'nt give Wild West a longer time to be tried out. I meen, it feels like it was out of the picture after only two years or something. First they opened with a small amount of sets and then, the year after they launched the indian village and such nice sets.

But then, they aborted the whole stuff and the line was over. Too bad, it had potential.

The mini fig pirates on the other hand, kind of made my childhood (together with castle) and I would very much like to have them back (in the same good old shape that is).

Now when you mention it Formendacil, I'm surprised too that they do'nt see the economic potential in bringing at least the pirates back, I meen, it has to be one of the best lines TLC ever made.

I'm done now.

Ha det fint!

I wasn't ever really a fan of the Wild West. Namely because I wasn't as interested in LEGO at the time they came out, but Pirates! MAAAN the pirates rocked. LEGO really should bring them back in minifigure form.

Not only were those two themes immensely popular, as well as being some of their better designed sets, but just imagine how much money they'd save on R&D if they just re-released the old sets! We could probably get them for the same price they sold fore originally! if they re-released all of the old pirate and Armada sets, they'd probably fly off the shelves like they had wings. I know I'd get a bunch of the forts and ships.

The other nice thing about the original pirate sets is that they came with a lot of mini-figs. Everyone loves mini-figs!

I loved the wild west. When I was little i wanted a cowboy set so bad. When they came out i got the whole line. I thought that one of the mistakes was that the first year it was all the weastern town and army the second year it was all indian. there was no transision like the did in the castle lines. There needed to be sets that had both cowboys and indians. There still cold have been a saloon a ranch with a ranch home, barn, and many animals.
As a thought they may have had some pressure on the indian racial thing like many of our sports teams face (redskins, braves and the like)
I did love the pirates and would love to get the forts because my family didn't have the money to get big sets when I was a child I have obtained most of the ships through other means

That was always my thought. There could easily have been a third year of "cowboy" sets that focused on civilian themes, including the introduction of a molded cow (basically the same body mold as the horse but with a different head mold that had the ability to attach the horn piece). Sets could include:
Covered wagon
Homestead farm (could be 2 sets)
Cattle drive (with rustlers for the required "action")
Western train station
Western train (cross-theme with the train series), perhaps with train robbers
Salloon (okay, they probably wouldn't do this)
Trapper? maybe a small polybag set?
