Hey all,
LEGO Ideas has announced the release of the next new set, 21326, Winnie the Pooh. It's pricey, $99, but looks like a really nice set.

It includes 4 figs (Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit and Tigger) plus a molded Eeyore. The house folds open to access the furnished interior. I have to say, the ultimate set here was a big improvement over the original proposal.

The official set still has the overall shape of the original, but uses newer and more interesting pieces for the leaves, the colors pop more, the house opens up for a better interior, and I really like the way they work the tree roots into the green ground. The original proposed brick-built Tigger was cute, but having an actual fig version is more functional. I did prefer the brick-built Eeyore from the original proposal over a single-piece mold, but it would have looked odd next to the figs with molded heads. One screw-up, IMO, is that the molded head for Piglet is way too large. It makes him as tall as Pooh, even though the Piglet fig uses short legs vs Pooh's normal legs. It just looks wrong because of course Piglet was a Very Small Animal. Another odd change is that the original proposal had Owl (the Harry Potter owl piece), but he was left out of the official set. That's an easy one to fix, but I'm confused why they didn't include him in the set. I'm a little torn on Rabbit. Normally I'm less happy with molded heads as they look less "LEGO" to me when there could be a solution with standard parts. I really liked the original proposal's idea of using the rabbit-man fig from the CMF line, recolored appropriately. That said, I think the molded Rabbit head is adorable.
Anyway, IMO this is an awesome set. It's a must-have for Disney fans and children's literature fans. I could see parents of small children having it to decorate the child's room, and then it being more of a play piece as the kid gets older. Castle fans would like it too, for the house and the tree.

This looks nice. And it's not crazy expensive, either. I kinda want it, but we shall see.

That's a really attractive looking set… a nice variety of bricks. I'm happy to see Eeyore.
