Pick a Brick cost comparison analysis

Post by Knight Man »

There's an interesting article on Brickset about PaB cost comparisons, I thought it was an excellent read. So how do you pack your PaB cups?

I know lots of people who insist on stacking their bricks for the pab cups, but I have no patience for that...none at all. But that is me. I'm willing to pay for what I get and if it wastes space in the cup...so be it. Standing around a LEGO store for hours stacking bricks just isn't all that..exciting to me. And then there is the dreaded unstacking of the bricks to use..and that is just torture on my fingernails. So no...I don't stack.

It is interesting, and for certain elements (large plates or bricks) I'll take the time to stack them all, but for smaller stuff that packs in pretty well when given a good shake, I've found that I'd rather just pay the extra $0.01-0.02 per piece and save myself an hour of packing. Time is more valuable to me, especially since I work 50+ hrs plus 10 hrs of commuting per week. :?

I pack mine quickly. I don't bother stacking (except for 12x2 plates) until I'm putting on the lid. I know it isn't logical but I care far more about filling those last few gaps on top and squeezing on the lid than for the other 90% of the cup (plus that bonus stud in the lid reminds me of a slurpee lid). :spin: It's just not worth the time (or dignity) it would take to stack all of the bricks and maximize my haul. Then again, I'll spend twenty minutes feeling bags so...
