Mirkwood elf archer bag at theater
Ok, so I went to the theater(or cinema if you're English) today because my sisters were going to see Frozen and I decided to go along too. Frozen was actually pretty good by the way, the humor is funny and not too....juvenile or cliche. So we were standing in line to get our tickets and I saw a girl who had just gotten food had something with a lego the hobbit picture sticking out of her tray, I think it must've come as a promo with the meal. So I asked her how she got it and she said she didn't want it, so I could have it so I took it, and it was a little baggie with a little booklet thingy with a lego the hobbit picture on it and also a mirkwood elf archer minifig! Just a minifig, identical to the ones in MEA, except with a regular bow not a longbow. So if you go to Vue theaters, make sure to ask about it at the food counter, so you can build up your elf army. I plan to get MEA when I go back to the states, so the elves there will have extra reinforcements!

Can you post a picture of the bag and its contents? This is a really interesting find!

Nice. If you were in the UK (I'm guessing this from your post) then VUE cinemas were giving them away to people who pre-booked their tickets to see Desolation of Smaug. This may have been what the girl mentioned did (I don't know about the US, but at VUE cinemas in the UK you can often buy/collect your tickets at the food concessions as well). Or they may have had a load leftover from the promotion and just be giving them out.Brickninja wrote:Sure....once I finally get out of bed - yawns -. Very cool! Hmm, I went to see Frozen and all I got was some popcorn.
BTW, I also enjoyed Frozen. I'd love to see someone do a MOC of that ice castle. Also great castle MOC potential in the main town.

Oh yeah! Great idea! Frozen has some great MOCing material. I don't know the details of how the girl got it, it looks like it was just with her food.

Wow, your so lucky! I went and saw Frozen, and got dinner there, but no lego minifig.

Neat find. I wish our theater gave them out.

I picked up that Belville ice palace set for the baseplate, planning to do one... That was 15 years ago...Bruce N H wrote:I'd love to see someone do a MOC of that ice castle.

Well, it was from someone else, and I assume they were going to see DOS, so maybe if you get dinner and see that you get it. Which you should, it's an epic movie! Another thing is that it's in the vue theaters which are only in the UK.mpoh98 wrote:Wow, your so lucky! I went and saw Frozen, and got dinner there, but no lego minifig.

Re: Mirkwood elf archer bag at theater
That's right. I pre-booked a ticket for DoS when they were put on sale and got two of the elf minifig at the cinema, but both came with longbows, not standard bows. Normally, you only get one minifig per ticket but I know some magic words that helped me get a second one at no extra charge.andhe wrote: Nice.
