Huckleberry Finn

Post by mpoh98 »

Hello All!

Here is my latest project! This was built for a school presentation about the book Huckleberry Finn, and as my teacher said visuals are appreciated, I automatically turned to Lego!

I had tons of fun building this creation, I used lots of new techniques that I have never tried before. For instance, the unusual pine tree, the water, the irregular baseplate, the sloped landscape, and using flex-tubes for trees.

Thanks Sir Erathor! It was fantastic, I had my classmates act out a scene as well, and that was HILARIOUS! Lots of fun (I normally don't like presentations, but this ones as fun and funny). :)

I usually hate presentations too, but I would have loved to have seen the acting! :roflol:

This is a very nice creation. However knowing the Mississippi, the water should be brown ;) As Mark Twain said about the water: Too thick to drink, too thin to plow.

Thank you architect. :) Yes, this build was from my imagination as well, so as I don't really have anything that makes muddy water, my brown is limited, so I went more off of my imagination. :)

If you think about, bright blue and even dark blue water is not all that common in the real world except for in swimming pools. Once I get ahold of some, I think I will mainly use trans-dark green 1x1 tiles for regular river water and trans-black cheese for water at night, to add a new sense of realism. Just some food for thought and ideas. By the way, you can call me Ian :)

I guess you're right about the ocean. What I'm thinking of I guess is a lot of rivers.

:) Yes, a lot of rivers do tend to be muddy. Also, waterfalls and rapids tend to be trans-light blue/trans-clear (mostly trans-clear). :)
