Hey,

Does anybody know of any sites or stores on Bricklink that do custom colouring for items and accessories? I found a couple who do chrome services but I am interested in other colours.

Thank you

No, but you could always dye your pieces.

Ochre_Jellly just made a video on custom coloring pieces. It's actually really funny too.

Check it out: here.

Hi there,

Not sure of what are you trying to achieve here but If you are only looking into presenting a concept I would suggest color spray, even the chroming process you mentioned is just that -- putting a layer of chrome material on top of the plastic without really changing its core color.

The closest term one would use here would be priming, the art form of laying down a layer of color onto intended surface as thin and as flat as possible.

Hey,

I was going to link to Ochre Jelly's video as well.

Also, in this thread Tony described using vinyl dye to color elements.

Hey guys,

I've added a few links to the How-To page (the two links above, plus one on polishing bricks and another on cleaning yellowed bricks). Does anyone know of similar tutorials, e.g. on painting LEGO or on making chromed parts? Please let me know and I'll add them to the how-to page.

Just bumping this thread to let you guys know that I have done a bit of research and have started doing my own custom colouring.

I have coloured a dragon helmet white to match the horse's helmet.

Add me on Flickr if you like! Also let me know what you think! :D

I'm looking into chrome variations and will perhaps help out with some tutorials when I get to grips with it.

Hey guys,

Just wondering what experiences, if any, people here have had trying to turn red bricks into grey with fabric dye?

In theory, the correct amount and correct shade of green should either make grey or brown. I have probably 2000 red pieces of no use to me as I'm only interested in castle lego and really have no use for red bricks.

I was hoping to dye them in the one hit if possible, as risky as it is. I am aiming to achieve grey but even if i get a funny shade of brown it will still be of more use to me than red.

Does anyone have experience trying anything similar?

Thanks
