I'm New!

Post by Storm »

Hi!
I discovered CC about 2 months ago and read some of the posts. It sounded like an intelligent community that would maybe mention mistakes in my meager MOCs (Constructive criticism) :) , so I joined up!
I usually build Castle, Space, Bionicle, Star Wars and City. Sometimes I integrate Bionicle into my Castle MOCs as gods, demons, giant creatures, or dragons, and, of course, I use other themes' pieces in Castle-building.
I only really have three-four big Castle creations that I am genuinely proud of. Three of them are heavy modifications of Castle LEGO sets, and one is a heavily modified Bionicle LEGO set.
That paragraph-long self-introduction was really long, so I'm just going to summarize: I'm here, and I'm staying.

Welcome. :)

I've thought about adding Bionicle to Castle mocs too, but I've never really had enough Bionicle pieces that would fit in.

Hello and welcome to the site. This is a good place to have your MOCs looked at, especially if you want constructive criticism and advice. Its nice that you think that we sound intelligent... :roflol: seriously though this is my favorite place on the web. Enjoy the site.

MOC's? yikes that'd mean I'd actually have to build rather than just merely acquire! Me shifts eyes looking for the exit to this place.....

I haven't done and don't really have space to build atm, (though) I do manage to acquire at times. My own history with LEGO and and the Castle theme goes way back and involves a number of sporadic dark ages and shadow times (perhaps I should call them Vorlon times considering my nick here :^)

LEGO in general started before the 677/6077 set was acquired. It grew with the arrival of 2 Castle minifig's in response to a in-box survey from a space set (6870 Space probe Launcher). One had the Torso used in 677 the other used the same torso that Architect's avatar has. Had to fight my brothers to keep him at times over the years but he has a nice separated conta... err residence apart from the other minifigs :D

Anyways enough of a threadjack, Welcome Storm (from one who has only been here a short time but still :^)

Oppsie, gotta make I'm putting the correct name in these posts, rofl

Welcome, Storm, and I hope you'll think us to be as intelligent one year from now as you do now. I hope you'll enjoy yourself here.

I don't think that any MOCs should be described as 'meager,' and I for one look forward to when you're able to post pictures of those that you've already mentioned. Having no Bionicle myself, I'm looking forward to seeing how you've integrated it into your Castle creations.

Well, I don't integrate it per se, I sort of just build Castle-themed Bionicle MOCs.

Hi Storm,

Welcome to CC! Hope you enjoy your stay. Are your MOCs posted somewhere online (Brickshelf? Flickr?)?

They would be, but I couldn't figure it out. :(
I'll try to take pictures of some stuff this week. Which image-hosting site should I use?

They each have their very own set of pros and cons, but in the end I wouldn't say one is better to use than another.
I think, especially to begin, Brickshelf is simpler and easier, but with less advanced options than Flickr. In the end it's up to you what you like best. Using both Flickr and Brickshelf is also pretty common among AFOLs.

I can't wait to see your stuff!
