Hello!

Post by Grover »

Hello all,

I am new here (obviously), although not new to Lego. I've been collecting Lego since the late 1970s, and the Castle theme is my favorite by far. I don't know why I never looked online for Lego designs before, but I was pointed to this site by a retailer in a Lego store at a mall, so here I am. It's great to see the different ideas, building techniques, and community here. It seems that this forum has slowed down a bit, but still has some good people here.

I'm currently in New Mexico, and not terribly close to any of the major Lego shows, but I'm hoping to get to one of the Lego shows in the next year or so.

Thanks! I'm excited to be here. I don't have a lot of pictures of MOCs yet, but hopefully will have some within a few months.

Welcome to Classic-Castle, Grover :) Things should be speeding up again around here, with the Colossal Castle Contest going now, so you chose a good time to join!

Thanks! I didn't even know the contest had just started, but I'll try and come up with something. Most of my Legos are back at my parents' house, 2000 miles from here, but I do have a sizeable amount of grey bricks for a castle project I'm working on, so hopefully I can get something together.

Hey Grover,

Welcome to CC! As noted above, this is a great time of year. We've just started our annual big event, the Colossal Castle Contest, and that always inspires new traffic and lots of great builds. Even if you do not have all of your collection with you, we intentionally design the contest with both large and small categories, so that people with smaller collections have equal opportunities to do well in smaller categories, but there are also the chances for those who want to build huge castles that cover multiple baseplates.

Welcome to CC, Coat-room is to the left, don't mind the carpet, we're getting ready to replace it. (Is there anyone still around that remembers me warning of new carpet?)
