Since the calender is on preorder at amazon.de, I watched the picture again, and I'm pretty sure it's the same fig.architect wrote:I am thinking the same thing. One could argue that a witch is not appropriate in an advent calendar. But it will be a more affordable way to buy the figure.insurrection wrote:But it will be the same fig in the advent calander, or?

I could care less whether the witch is not "appropriate.," I am glad she's in the set. Gives me more of a reason to buy multiple copies. The higher number of sets that have her the lower the price on Bricklink(usually).stuifzand wrote:Since the calender is on preorder at amazon.de, I watched the picture again, and I'm pretty sure it's the same fig.architect wrote:I am thinking the same thing. Thanks to stuifzand for finding the calendar on amazon-Germany, I'll have to check the USA site until the calendar is available.

Appropriate? I don't see what's inappropriate, they're all fictional characters. Really, if you take it that far then what about skeletons and trolls and minifigs with cleavage and violent sword wielding knights?

I believe he just meant that it's not appropriate for an advent calender--i.e., not very Christmas-related. But that's par for the course for Lego's advent calendars.RebelRock wrote:Appropriate? Insane?
Well yes it is, but I must have this set as I have been orchestrating chess games using LEGO parts since about 2000 in my dwelling places.
Therefore I have pre-ordered this set today, and I shall receive it after September 1... plenty of time to save for the bill.
And you get a free gold brick keychain if you order today in the US of A.

The thing's pretty darn expensive, so I'll wait till Christmas and/or my birthday, both of which are coming in 6-7 months, to get it. The coolest part is all the different pieces, and you can get a lot of rare & not-yet-released figures, such as the good wizard and the witch.
Can't wait to get mine!

There is a framework made of technic beams and 4x4 round bricks which holds the chess baseplate. I do not have a picture of this. Sorry.Voran_the_Scholar wrote:Hey, Architect.
Maybe you missed my question, but in any case I shall ask it again: What exactly is contained beneath all those tiles? How is the general structure built?
Thanks in advance.
God bless.

I know. Lego is making me angry; after years of bad castle sets, they decide to bring all the amazing ones out now - when im the most broke!jondesouza wrote:Far too much good stuff coming out at the moment. This is going to cause more friction in my house:
