OK, I'll do it then.

I'm not sure what all the hype is over this.

Personally, I'd rather have seen Lego develop a similarly priced, similarly detailed castle structure (maybe a homebase for the Trolls, which the line is seriously lacking). From a builders perspective, its just 32 figures and a bunch of, what look to be, kind of junky parts (I don't need any more slopes, arches or horns). Imagine how nice a Castle could be made if you cut the number of figures to 16. And if you want an army builder, why make up buy 32 figures all at once? Why not give us 6 different sets that come with 6 figures, like we used to have?

I'm also not much into chess sets. If I want to play chess, I'll play with my real chess set. When I want to build, I'll play with my Lego. I'm not much for the cross over.

But, I do see why people like it, to a point. It is a pretty good looking chess set, if you are into that sort of thing. And its nice that they included a lot of shields.

That being said, I'll still probably pass on this and spend my money on securing the rest of the line.

As you can see I have deleted the contents of several posts in this thread. I was asked by a LEGO representative to do so. If you did not know what the content of those posts were, don't ask. If you do remember what the content of those posts, do not discuss it.

Honestly, if LEGO does a Shop@Home castle I hope it isn't a Troll or Goblin castle as I simply have no interest in the realm of fantasy. I suspect that there are a number of AFOLs with similar feelings. I would be immensely disappointed if the one large-scale castle set we ended up seeing through Shop @ Home turned out to be a purely fantastical set. The Crown Knights of 2007 did a good job of appeasing both fantasy fans and traditionalists. I would hope that any large-scale castle aimed at AFOLs would attempt to do the same.

While you fantasy folk are certainly getting your fill through the main line, those of us craving something a bit less epic are still waiting. For me the highlight of 2008 is actually the Advant Calender, and that's only because of the jester and peasant woman.

I guess i'm one of the 'this is great but.' folks. On one hand it is great to see lego making big high detail castle sets at least partly directed at the AFOL.

On the other hand, i too would much rather have had a big honking castle. I mean a 6086 or 6080 on steroids would make any of us salivate.

Still i'm buying one of these with the cash from the next property is ell!

Sorry Thaddeus, I was just asking... it's not fair that the other posters all get to know about the secret chess set price-point or other set or whatever information it is. Besides someone could probably use the Wayback Machine or Internet Archive to define out what it is, but not me.

Does anyone have a link to what it is?

It might even be some really juicy information like I bet the deleted posts had pictures of the elves and places where you can buy Dwarves Mine for $25

It's also not fair for the LEGO company to have sensitive information leaked that they explicity said they did not want leaked.

Do not go further down this road, Zode, only negative consequences await you.
