What do YOU do with your KKII rainbow knights?

Post by Mudpuppy »

Looks like I'm building a small army of them at this rate...

Since there's 2 seperate versions of each one... what do you do? Use them? Make them leaders? Hide them..? Feed them to the neighborhood dog..?

Also, does anyone else think the helment masks pop off a little too easily?

Nice...! :)

I think it fits them... except I have around 20-25 of them now and no idea what to do with them. I usually group figs into units.. but they're so flamboyant.. they just don't seem to fit into a "unit" feel.

So that's why they wear helmets all the time. Sheesh, bad hair day!

The idea of having the knights in distinct colours wasn't that bad, but they should have used subdued colours of navy, dark green, etc. and *NOT* baby blue or violet for sure!

I only got my first KK2 sets a month or two ago - mainly for parts (although some are quite interesting actually, like Citadel of Orlan or Scorpion lair). I will most likely use the green and red guys as actual knights. The blue or violet could be used for some warrior princess or evil witch queen or something.

I took their heads and put them in my head bag. I took Vladek's torso, legs, and armor and separated them into their respective bags. Then, I tossed everything else to the deepest, darkness catacomb of my least used, useless bucket of useless, useless pieces. Simple solution, now all I have to do is get rid of that accursed bucket.

Josh: That is exceptional!

If you have 20-25 of these little suckers, you must like them already? Did you have a plan for them or did you get them in sets? I guess if yo don't need them you could sell or trade them.

If we weren't talking about Lego figs that would be a bit disturbing :o

Anyway the first year KK2 figs are quite disliked - even I admit the colours are a bit over the top - but the coloured armour can add some nice variation to all the grey armour. And apart from maybe Vladek all the heads are excellent.

Oh, no, I have file cabinet in the storm drain in the woods behind my house for them.

But yeah, I am in the process of separating all my minifig parts.

I think the second year KKII knights are actually awesome looking.
The dark green and silver unicorn
The red and silver bulls
The black, yellow, and silver dragon (possibly my favorite shield ever) :D
The sand blue snake guys.

I have about 9 of each of the good guy factions. Including the first year guys. The baby blue I have more unfortunately from the chess set.

I have about 25 each of the black and yellow dragon guys and the sand blue snake guys.

In my lego kingdom I use these small factions as knights from a foreign land and do not build them any castles. Each group acts as a small personal guard to similar colored wizards. The Dumbledore figure is guarded by the violet knights. McGonagal (sp?) is guarded by the bright green and so on. I figure these guys armor is imbued with powers from the different colored wizards. Because otherwise they just look like a bunch of weanies!

God I went way out of my way to make an excuse to use these figures and their flamboyant armor didn't I?

This is my dragon unit:

The gold w/ silver flecked armor is pretty nice. I'm dealing with year one sets and the regular baby blue, bright green, etc stuff.

And yes, 4 Vladek's Fortresses and 5 or 6 other assorted sets will do that to you. It's not that I love the figs.. but I had a dearth of new(er) castles sets so I plunked some money down for some.

I must say that the Vladek's Fortress is a bit larger and more internally detailed than the older castle sets. I will probably break them down to make a dark village of sorts.

I suppose if I could get small squads of them up.. they would make colorful cavalry units.

Use them as wizard minions? Now that's a good idea.
