My all-time favorite castle set! I should have bought the rerelease when it came out, but I have the instructions and plenty of Legos & Black Falcons.

Looks like a cool set. But shouldn't it be on the homepage? :|

Doubt it, considering it seems like "Username" resurrected this topic.

It is perfectly fine for anyone to comment on an old Weekly Set Review. By browsing the Out of Production sets section of Classic-Castle, you can check out each sets archive page:

Wow, that's surprising. Unusual, very understanding and lenient, because most forums I've seen seem to really "bash" and get angry at "gravediggers".

It is ok for a few Weekly Set Review topics. Discussing 20 mocs from 2003 would probably be frowned upon

I just won this set on eBay and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. This is embarrassing to admit, but I've never owned an actual Classic Castle castle before. (I've always been more focused on Lego Space and only had smaller Castle sets.) I purchased King's Castle Siege a few months ago since I never had a Lego castle at all, and was really impressed with the set. But it made me want to own at least one classic castle, and this was the one I desired the most. The reviews in this thread helped me choose which one to buy.

I envy you... how much did you pay for it? I recently bought Forestmen's River Fortress CIB for about $25... 30, if you count S/H. It was a pretty good find... well, the box had a rip, and was missing the plastic thing... but otherwise, I'm quite happy with it...

It was expensive, about $70. It was in great shape and even came with the box. Everything went fine until I got to the end of building it and realized that the seller had screwed me out of the rare blue flag and a few other, less rare, pieces that go on in the end. I wrote to him but never got a response. This has happened too many times when buying old Lego sets; I really should learn. How hard is it to check a set on Peeron? I hate to give a guy negative feedback when he otherwise sent me a set in wonderful condition, but if he eventually doesn't, I might have to. It was advertised as complete, and for the rarest, most expensive piece to be missing in inexcusable. It was also missing the three-pointed blue plume, a black antenna, and a 1x4 light gray brick, none of which are too expensive to get off Bricklink if I don't have extras in my collection already. It was also missing a couple of the extra plumes not actually in use in the set, so I can let that slide.

That stinks. That flag isn't cheap. If I were you, I would email the seller a couple of more times and then leave negative feedback if they don't respond.

...for a stupid flag? Some people just expect too much out of their sellers. Well, it's possible that it was just misplaced during packing and shipping. Seriously, how expensive is this piece? Is it just an ordinary blue flag but with a Falcon's Symbol on it? I wouldn't be so meticulous, just replace it with an ordinary Blue Flag and forget about it.

I don't think it's too much to expect a complete set when it's advertised as so. The flag with the Falcons symbol runs $8- $10. I want the set to have the proper parts. Remind me never to bid on an auction from you, CVfan13.

To be honest, though, if he never gets back to me, I'd probably give him neutral feedback, since it wasn't like he sent me nothing.

#1: You won't have the option to considering I won't be selling any Legos anytime soon.
#2: I agree though, if you paid $70 and the set was advertised complete, you shouldn't have had any issue, but that still isn't a reason to leave negative feedback, neutral is better.

Call me crazy, but that's not really as much as I expected you'd say... sure, I wouldn't want to pay that much JUST for a fancy flag, but if I were in your situation and it was to complete a collector's item, then it's really not that much money compared to if you had a decent paying substantial salary, $8-10 isn't really that much to just throw away. I mean, it's not like you can't afford it.
