Lego Brickmaster castle set.

Post by DaleDVM »

Image

This set appeared at the following UK website.

http://www.dorlingkindersley-uk.co.uk/n ... ter_Castle#

It appears that the catapult and chariot which never made final release will be released together. The release appears to be in August. Availability of the set is not known at this time but obviously it will be released in the UK.

I think that putting the impulse sets together with extra pieces which allows for mini MOCing is a great idea. You get a good and bad figure in the set and I think this type of thing would sell really well. The price I am certain will be set at an easy entry point for children.

I dunno. That one seems to be just a book (having no picture doesn't help) while the other one claims it comes with 140 bricks and 2 minifigs on the cover so... I dunno

Nice. Lego is so clever! I may have to pick this up. I am hoping to get to Legoland soon do you think this would be there? Maybe I will call their Lego store to find out.

Seems like they updated the instructions from that listed on the Lego website most a year ago now.

Good find Dale!

As Josh said, it looks interesting. But im a little bit confused about something: is it a book with building ideas and some bricks or what?

^I think it is a book "about" LEGO Castle, that comes with a small LEGO set and some pictures of alternate models. What the content of the book is exactly, I don't know. Considering they're selling it for $16.49 and it has 140 elements and 2 minifigs, I'm guessing the book is not exactly large or in depth, but who knows. Maybe LEGO cut them a deal or something. Either way, anyone who has bought even a couple of the fantasy-era Castle sets from the past few years should already have all the parts for this set, so it's hard to get too excited about it.

It is indeed a book, 48 pages, to be released in August. But you get a handful bricks (140) and two minifigs with it.
Here's more about it on Borders' website: Link

For the Pirates among us, there's also a Pirates version.

As a collector I have to get atleast one. I think it is neat that the sets we all speculated on much of last year are being released in this manner.

I imagine the book is aimed towards children. I wonder how many pages of it are about lego castle and how many are instructions for the several models this kit makes.

This is going the right way. You get a couple bricks and ideas to set you going in the right direction. Give this and a big bucket of grey bricks and arches to a six year old and see what you get.
