Re: 7097 review?
There is one available on Eurobricks:
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... opic=29340
I own the set, and, aside from the minifigs and accessories, I am not too terribly impressed. When I first heard about the set, I was hoping we would get something like the Agents Volcano Base. It's a bit too symmetrical for me and my idea Lego of troll/orcs: the gate and back tower are flanked by matching walls that can break (modular) into 6 sections and switch the walls/layout around. KCS has about 130 more pieces for the same price (I am guessing the unique minis in the Troll fortress contribute to it's price).

I wouldn't really buy the set for the set, the only thing wich really steal me away is the minifigs
the troll king and mage are really awesome and I am very suprized they made something this cool.
but the set itself isn't really impressive

Re: 7097 review?
how does the gate compair with that of viking fortress?
Just based on pictures i'm lking it much better than the enterance on KCS. That portcullis that magically rose into thin air was just odd. It looked great when closed but....... I replaced it with large castle doors for my display KCS.

I don't have the old viking fort, but the gate for the troll fortress is not solid. I don't care for it really.timber_wolf899 wrote:how does the gate compair with that of viking fortress?

Heh, I bought the set for the parts & sold all the figs. Lots of brown, dark brown, bley, dark bley, dark green, etc.

Re: 7097 review?
The thing i think most people are missing is that it is a second big FOUR WALLED castle in three years!
How long did we wait for just one of these? Granted its not perfect, but oh man what we would have given to have this instead of king leo's breezeway or castle of morcia? The look seems quite impressive as is the modularity.
I do see what you guys mean about the gate though. The idea of a plate built gate rules, but this one isn't solid enough. I think you could have done the crude troll look and had it be more substantial, no?
